and since you didn't actually answer the question,
That's the thing. I posted a link to the federal criminal law that makes child murder when sex exploitation is involved a capital offense.

You could have done that before you posted your attention whore post.

ETA: As far as the other cases mentioned in the OP which did not involve child molestation before the child(ren) was/were murdered, kidnapping a minor has been a federal capital offense ever since the Charles Lindbergh baby was kidnapped and murdered back in the early 1930's.

Perhaps require some kind of Special Case determination.

I don't. Because the State that can justify executing your for one thing can justify executing you for anything.
But that's no longer justice, but tyranny. We have a path to resolution for tyranny.

That's not even including the wrongly accused. I'd rather have murderers in jail for life than killing even one person who was wrongly accused and/or convicted.
Again, not justice. No one is claiming infallibility, but justice is not served when someone who kills a person gets put in time out for the rest of their lives.

You have a great philosophical point, one I’ve made myself through the years. But really, you have already expended more energy in this thread than these particular guys deserve. Kill them quickly and bury them . Next.

I disagree.

And justice is certainly not served when the State executes an innocent person.

That isn't whataboutism. It's my Catholic upbringing. I don't support the death penalty, period.

But the holy democrat sacrament of abortion must be protected at all costs? I swear.. I think there is a correlation between a lack of self awareness coupled with a 30 second attention span and liberalism.

Seems like a fair balance to me if they are tried and convicted of the crime... As a parent, if you can't love your own child then you can love no one.

First post of yours that I've completely disagreed with. And I had you on the ChineseBandit58/ShortyRob ticket for 2024.

What is your reasoning behind opposition to the DP?

I hear that regularly from those who oppose the DP. If deterrence exists at all, it's nothing but an ancillary benefit. What about punishment for the crimes committed, and the fact that we can all celebrate an assured 0% recidivism rate?

Ok, so we resume the death penalty for five dudes who undoubtedly deserve it. Does this mean we also resume the death penalty for other people who may or may not be obvious cases?

frick off.

I'm opposed to the American death penalty where dudes commit heinous crimes, sit around for decades only to be killed at a time when no one but the victim's family remembers the crime, the murderer might be a completely different human being, etc. It's just an empty process where justice is unduly prolonged.

This is why it’s not a deterrent. We need to go back to hanging people in the county square. Safe, legal and rare.

Same

Although I won't be losing any sleep over these executions.

Then it seems you don't have a problem with the death penalty.

Maybe you have a problem with going for capital punishment in certain cases.

These cases listed in this thread are exact examples of why the death penalty should exist.

If you are opposed to abortion in one form or another as well the murder of defenseless children, you should have no issue with this decision and your viewpoint/outlook on this as an issue is consistent.

Neither does prison in most cases. But this does serve as an actual deterrent in most cases. I mean, we sentence people to multiple life sentences without parole... Is that a deterrent? In your way of thinking... no right?

I guess we could "reform" a cold blooded murderer and release him so he can kill a few more times. We've seen that happen plenty of times.
