Thanks. Honestly I had no idea federal murder charges existed. The federalist in me doesn't like it, but obviously I'm ignorant on this issue. On one hand, it's murder, not exactly controversial. On the other hand, why can't the states handle their own awful murder cases?

so its the innocent life that needs protecting and not the life of a murderer ?

Are you under the impression that people are pro life because they are against death for any reason?

no i am not.

A lot of people claim to be pro life due to their faith. But they believe in death penalty . I find this ironic. \

I am on the fence with both of these issue. I was against the death penalty due to the amount of innocent people on death row that are released. A few years ago my aunt was murdered in her home by POS and i would love to see the state of LA execute the POS. He is serving 2 life sentences for my aunt and another lady he raped and killed.

That assumes that justice includes the State killing someone.

There should be a law that allows for the parents of the child to execute their child's killer....hell, just leave them locked in a room for 5 minutes with the father and see what happens.

Good, do away with this life in prison shite, if you kill someone, especially kids, you deserve to die. End of story!

That's typically what justice entails. A life for a life.

You're free to accept or reject whatever you want, but if you think a murderer doesn't deserve to die for his crimes, you don't actually believe in justice.

:: Daniel Lewis Lee murdered a family of three, including an eight-year-old girl. After robbing and shooting the victims with a stun gun, Lee covered their heads with plastic bags, sealed the bags with duct tape, weighed down each victim with rocks, and threw the family of three into the Illinois bayou. On May 4, 1999, a jury in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Arkansas found Lee guilty of numerous offenses, including three counts of murder in aid of racketeering, and he was sentenced to death. Lee’s execution is scheduled to occur on Dec. 9, 2019.

:: Lesmond Mitchell stabbed to death a 63-year-old grandmother and forced her nine-year-old granddaughter to sit beside her lifeless body for a 30 to 40-mile drive. Mitchell then slit the girl’s throat twice, crushed her head with 20-pound rocks, and severed and buried both victims’ heads and hands. On May 8, 2003, a jury in the U.S. District Court for the District of Arizona found Mitchell guilty of numerous offenses, including first degree murder, felony murder, and carjacking resulting in murder, and he was sentenced to death. Mitchell’s execution is scheduled to occur on Dec. 11, 2019.

:: Wesley Ira Purkey violently raped and murdered a 16-year-old girl, and then dismembered, burned, and dumped the young girl’s body in a septic pond. He also was convicted in state court for using a claw hammer to bludgeon to death an 80-year-old woman who suffered from polio and walked with a cane. On Nov. 5, 2003, a jury in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Missouri found Purkey guilty of kidnapping a child resulting in the child’s death, and he was sentenced to death. Purkey’s execution is scheduled to occur on Dec. 13, 2019.

:: Alfred Bourgeois physically and emotionally tortured, sexually molested, and then beat to death his two-and-a-half-year-old daughter. On March 16, 2004, a jury in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas found Bourgeois guilty of multiple offenses, including murder, and he was sentenced to death. Bourgeois’ execution is scheduled to occur on Jan. 13, 2020.

:: Dustin Lee Honken shot and killed five people—two men who planned to testify against him and a single, working mother and her ten-year-old and six-year-old daughters. On Oct. 14, 2004, a jury in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Iowa found Honken guilty of numerous offenses, including five counts of murder during the course of a continuing criminal enterprise, and he was sentenced to death. Honken’s execution is scheduled to occur on Jan. 15, 2020.

I never said this. The decision to execute should not be up to the State.

I mean, ANYTHING is possible. It’s not practical to live your life that way though. Every day we exclude things which are technically possible but are so unlikely that it’s a waste of time and energy to consider them.

The only reason you’re giving special acknowledge to this highly unlikely scenario is because its politically relevant (and advantageous) for you if it were true. Hilary Clinton wearing the surgically removed faces of dead children is not something worth considering as a reasonable possibility.

Exactly this. And small government advocates honestly should feel the same way.

Ultimately, was it not up to the murderer? I mean, nobody forced them to murder children, did they? And actions have consequences, do they not?

I don't think that's true

If I could snap my fingers and eliminate the death penalty in its current form, I would. But I'm not going to protest this decision or devote my non-working hours to elimination of the death penalty.

In truth I'm opposed to abortion but I don't lose sleep over that either. Perhaps I should, but I don't. Or murder. Or nuclear war. Etc.
