Well then, you're free to move to a more affordable area, get a higher-paying job, work 5 jobs, whatever. You are not free to put up crap housing that lowers my property value. I worked hard and saved and lived frugally to afford my home.

You're exactly right.

Hope Eric Holder chokes on his spit.

I don’t give a frick about your property. What you do on it is your business. What I do on mine is mine.

I am arguing that he's in favor of changing long-established zoning for over 90% of a county/parish to serve his agenda. Yes, that's called communism!

He is no commie.

A moronic libertarian maybe, but not a commie.

He is still a dumbass no matter what.

but if you purchase in a single family home neighborhood, those neighborhoods should remain zoned that way via a grandfather clause

Why? What makes that type of zoning special?

My street has maybe one original owner left (houses were built in the early-80s), the rest are all gone.

Under a new proposal by Montgomery County (Maryland) Council, single-family home zoning would be amended to allow duplexes, triplexes, four townhomes, or in some cases a small apartment building.

When approved by the County Planning Board in June, the board's chair called it a way to boost the stock of attainable homes, what is often called the missing middle of housing

I would get together with some friends and go to their meeting and advise them if they vote for this, we will pool our money and buy out their next-door neighbors and put apartments at those locations.

What’s my agenda? If you don’t like the zoning laws you should buy more land so you don’t have to be around all those poor people.

The type of housing that MoCo is proposing isn’t 10+ apartments on SFH land.

This hails from the BHO era and the communist push to 'integrate' neighborhoods.

I’m in planning and missing middle housing is completely different that what Obama’s HUD was trying to do.

Fixed. My guess is those are areas closest to WMATA rail stations which makes sense.

This scenario plays out in ski towns nationwide. Wealthy assholes want to live their wealthy a-hole lives with no thought to the people - often young, many immigrants - they expect to cook their meals, clean hotel rooms, bump chairs on the lift. They have to live somewhere close
