In addition the the fatazz demo and Covid, I wonder why no one has written about the fact that Covid kills men at a ratio of almost 2:1. It’s right there on the CDC website, for anyone to see.

I woke up to a Red State article this AM crying about how deaths are lumped together, WITH and BY Covid. That information - how many deaths can be directly attributed to Covid - is also right there on the CDC website, and the number of BY Covid is 59,000. Lazy journalism.

That’s because poor people can’t afford nutritious food. The science has been out on that for years.

People have a right to be obese with they want to. Their body their choice.

My wife always says this about me...she leaves out the part where I get significant physical activity 6 to 7 days a week.

If I didn't like beer, wine, and ice cream I'd have a six pack.

Here’s a novel idea. Realize death is part of life and you can’t avoid it. Stop suggesting “we do something” and let people realize the consequences of their choices. Whether that’s being obese or having 6 kids with 4 different mothers or whatever else.

If we are gonna go back to shaming fatties, can we also double the frick down and shame people on welfare, too?

Hell, people who are 50 pounds overweight make fun of people who are 100 pounds overweight. It's like a 'D' student calling an 'F' student a moron.

Ordinarily, I would agree. But their personal choice affects the rest of the healthy population. Health insurance costs, and now a LOCKDOWN for a virus that is known to be much worse for the obese.

Maher brings up a great point, with 42% obesity rate in this country, it's not a huge leap to assume we'd be doing much better with Covid if there weren't so many fatties here.

I guess it’s fair to say that Covid is doing a far better job of reducing obesity in the US than Michelle did.

Absolute garbage.I see people with WIC cards spending a shitload on junk and there's plenty of healthy, affordable alternatives.

Now,are the gonna be able to afford "free range" chicken and other foods that are "organic?" Probably not but neither can a lot of folks. They'll just have to eat normal meats and fruits and vegetables like the rest of us.

Yeah. I hear that a lot, too. It ain't easy. I've lost quite a bit of weight during this pandemic and am probably as healthy as I have been since my early-20s, but it took work and effort. I had to eat better and exercise six days a week.

A few thoughts..

1. You cant cure loneliness and depression in all cases. Many of those individuals use food as a crutch. they can control that, or so they think.

2. Food is big business. We get bombarded with food commercials. gotta have some mcdonalds, gotta geta pizza since its 2 for $12..taco bell..etc..on and on. Skinny people who in all reality dont eat that crap are getting paid to promote it.

3. Low income people eat like crap because the crap is cheapest..buy one get one free of whatever you can think..chips, hot dogs, little debbie...

4. Even healthy food like chicken is prepared in a way that has the opposite affect..trust me, who the hell wants baked chicken if you can eat fried chicken.

5. Last of all, im sure its racist to somehw to try to pick on fat people. everything else can be racist..

it is what it is.

As for me, ive lost 24 lbs since march 20th. We did what many did that first week of this hype. we bought junk food like it was a snow storm. only this sucker wasnt gonna melt in 2 days and get you going again.

my wife and i realized that if we ate like that consistently we would balloon. We decided to go on a covid diet.

I had lost 28 but am now down 24. of course, at my age i can seriously gain 3 lbs in a week. Im back on it now..i eat what i want 1 day a week and go perfect for 6..that is how i just maintain...

its extremely hard to stay on a totally healthy plan all the time.

Spent 2 weeks in Japan visiting son & the first thing I noticed was how remarkably slim...and that is the word that fits...all the people were. I was there at a time of Japan's national holidays & huge crowds were everywhere, visiting the Buddist shrines & park areas. I started really looking & in crowds of 1000's each day, I saw 1-2-3 mabe not obese but just not slim people, all ages & sexes. My son told me to start looking at what they ate, and didn't eat. Little to non existent breads, their rice, a staple of their diet, is of a totally different quality, no one eats French fries,, etc. And if China has a 6% obesity rate, Japan has to be in single digits, too. It's what we eat.

Been watching a lot of old movies, documentaries, since retirement. 40's and 50's. A few people could lose a few pounds but nothing like today.

Sam's has a senior time early on Tuesday and Thursday. Customers overwhelmingly white and reasonably fit. Come back 4 hours later and people of color and whites on the electric carts and can barely move. Crap in the carts. This needs to be called out.
