Kinda like and NFL player signing a 500 million dollar contract, all back ended, contain clauses with incentives that are impossible to achieve, small up front amount.

I’m not alleging that all, or even most, big book advances are bribes. I’m alleging that a lot of political books are published by lackeys and are bought by lackeys for reasons other than why people normally buy books. Often the memoirs of politicians are bought in bulk by CEOs of companies who then hand them out to employees, distribute them to the homeless, or deposit them in dumpsters. Those are bribes.
