why defend the bureaucratic morass that permeates every aspect of our society today? this is what the man is speaking of why turn it into some convoluted psycho babble, why defend the DEEP STATE

why? why?

cut free the chains of government overreach, make fast your soul; escape the bonds of Big Brother in your mind and in reality

people good, government bad

You really are grasping at straws here. As someone who works for a small business and is related to a half dozen small business owners, itbwas Hell to even try to start up a business on your own, much less run one effectively due to all of the burdensome taxes, regulations, and insane rules.

Yes if you had access to millions in VC you could do it because you could hire the necessary lawyers and HR people. But if you didn't have that kind of access, it was damn near impossible to do it.

I think moving regulations(education, environment, labor) to the state level is much more efficient and effective. Now what we need is an engaged and informed populace to hold the politicians accountable for the laws and regulations they enact.

It is impossible to hold the EPA, Department of Education, and Department of Labor accountable because they are unelected and virtually untouchable. You would basically have to come in with a flame thrower (Trump) to clean/lean them up

No he's talking about the bloated grotesque administrative bureaucracy, not surprised at your comments, I'm sure you're suckling at the teat somehow.

That may well be the case this time around but the next group will have to go further and further.

This is what libertarianism is all about....you have to deconstruct everything in existence....but if you follow the logic long enough and it is allowed to play out with a minimum of interference we will arrive EXACTLY where we were in October of 2016.....there won't be a significant difference.

Here is how I, and anyone who has a brain in their heads, knows this to be true....Man started off life in a totally free market with no limitations and no regulations...he could and did do whatever in the frick he damn well pleased if he had the ability....he was as free as a man could be...but some overstepped and caused others to form alliances to protect themselves against others....and eventually we found ourselves living in a world where there is a very high liklihood that there will be a Starbucks on opposing corners of a busy intersection.....

Sane, normal people do not need to invent the wheel when they need one for their car....they just go buy one and don't give it a moments thought....libertarians think it is admirable to spend a lot of resources coming up with a way to make their car roll easier....at the end of the day they all wind up with a fricking wheel and at the end of the day we all wind up with a fricking society....and western society is, arguably, the most efficient man has ever known and a large part of the efficiency is due to bad old regulation and government....

I somewhat agree with your point, except it sounds like you're saying "what difference does it make."

That it what is dangerous. When our government gets so big and our waste so extreme, that we say "what difference does it make" when efforts are made to cut waste and bloat, we are lost.

Our greatest president ever, Ronald Reagan once said:

" The most terrifying words in the English language is " I am from the government and I am here to help."
Here is another:
"Government's view of the economy could be summed up in a few short phrases: If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. And if it stops moving, subsidize it."
Lastly:
"The government is not the solution to your problems, they are the problem."

It's like y'all skipped over the part where I said I'm totally fine with eliminating outdated, duplicative, and truly burdensome regulations.

I have a feeling though that some of you believe just about any regulation to be overburdensome on business.

How about you wait and see what the actual policies are before you start with your outrage? For once, quit getting hysterical over rhetoric, and wait until the administration actually rolls out its plans. Why would you judge everything they do based on snippets and out of context quotes during the planning stages?

This isn't necessarily true. Do you not know how administrative procedures have made it almost impossible for people to sue for the damages they deserve?

Economic state = bureaucracy

Clarence Thomas has spoken out against the constitutionality of the unaccountable bureaucracy.
