Bannon talks about dismantling the "Administrative state,” what he's really talking about is allowing corporations and industry the absolute right to do whatever they want, whenever and wherever they want, regardless of its harmful impact on American citizens.
ITT we learn DS loves crony capitalism.

Music to my ears. Long overdue.

This is ridiculous, but it's oh so Drac.

Atop Trump’s agenda, Bannon said, was the “deconstruction of the administrative state” — meaning a system of taxes, regulations and trade pacts that the president and his advisers believe stymie economic growth and infringe upon one’s sovereignty.
Music to my ears.

It's like y'all skipped over the part where I said I'm totally fine with eliminating outdated, duplicative, and truly burdensome regulations.
I have a feeling though that some of you believe just about any regulation to be considered overburdensome on business.
Sorry, this isn't a "let's sit down and have a conversation" type thing. We just had 8 years of full court press from Obama on regulations. It's time for your side to bend over now.

We love our Bannon, don't we folks?

before i found Yes Minister, i listened to a lot of Milton Friedman on Youtube and he really summed it up. we have this belief that since bureaucrats are in "public service" that somehow they are noble and above human needs/desires. but the bureaucrat is not this noble creature above the fray and they're subject to the same self-preservation and selfishness of their political "Enemies" (typically businesses)
so you read the OP in this thread and it creates the typical dichotomy: noble bureaucrats v. evil businesses. and we need the bureaucrats to keep industry in check because the businesses act in self interest to the detriment of society while the noble bureaucrats fight against this without any self-interest or bias to protect society. in reality, both are doing the same thing: competing for resources to have more control than the other allows. businesses want more freedom to have control over their decisions and bureaucrats want more government power to have control over industry.
Yes Minister is just an absolutely brilliant satire of the bureaucratic state and covers basically every angle. it's seriously one of the best comedies in history and is always useful to post clips in these discussions
Five Standard Excuses
that covers almost EVERY excuse for government failure and it's like 30 years old. nothing has changed

You and Toddy should get together and compare drama queen notes.

You have gone full dumbass and are a nuisance. How do you know what Bannon "is really talking about"?
Posted on 2/24/17 at 8:41 am to Draconian Sanctions
quote:
The wholesale elimination of Federal agencies that ensure we receive such things as clean air, clean water, fair labor laws, fair housing standards, anti-discrimination laws, financial regulations, food and drug safety, national education standards, health care standards, etc.
Because we don't have state agencies and a federal congress to oversee any of these things, right?

If you want to get rid of senseless rules and regulations and bureaucracy you need to get started at the Pentagon and Department of Defense and all branches of the service. They are the masters of getting paid to do nothing, duplicating services, and getting private industry to follow their mandates. If you want to see waste, fraud, getting paid for doing nothing there's no beating the military.

Exactly. Both philosophies completely disregard that human beings make up both of them. Both reflect a lack of understanding of human nature.
