As I get older I start to wonder if Capitalism is really the best approach

Or maybe it isn’t compatible with our modern culture?
Look how China is shielded from any blame for anything it is doing? Because US interests and profits.
Look at how many tub of lard Americans are waddling around? Because we have to maximize profits by selling garbage food with corn syrup, etc.
Hey do you like that stand of 200 year old hardwoods? Tough shite we are going to flatten them and build low quality apartments that will turn to trash soon
Meanwhile almost all information about products and economic issues seems to be clouded in a fog of deceit and half truths to keep us all in the dark. It is like most everything in our society is a lie in order to maximize profit.
I don’t support Socialism nor Communism. Just taking a step back to evaluate my beliefs.

You took the long way around to telling us you are borderline retarded

Capitalism is just an economic engine. It is, indeed, the best engine to minimize poverty and generate wealth in a fair and balanced way that we have yet devised. It's not close.
How that engine is used (or abused) should not be conflated with how badass the engine is.

And you took the short way round to admitting you never reflect on your beliefs.

I can agree with this.
So then the question becomes: In the real world, in American society, can it ever be used correctly?

Y'all ever heard of anybody traveling around the world to sneak into China for its authoritarianism?
Didn't think so.

You are placing your blame in the wrong place...

When capitalism is over-regulated, as we have now, we all start to wonder.
When you have to be bonded, licensed, and insured to paint a house or cut hair ......

Capitalism is the only moral system for organizing an economy. I've reflected on it and that's the answer.

Thanks. Can you help me to understand? Being serious.

You can critique any system. Unless you can identify a better system, you are left tinkering with the one you have. Can you? I can’t.

Capitalism is not the problem... The problem is government putting its thumb on every single thing, creating rules that prohibit entry into markets, etc...

Those tubs of lard are subsidizing their shite diet with government benefits. Those low quality apartments are many times Section 8 housing.
Capitalism isn't perfect (no system is) but competition bred by the free market is a million times better than any product our federal government has ever created and run.

I have started to wonder if Democratic elections are truly the best system.
On a small scale, absolutely.
On a large country-wide scale, I am not so sure anymore. More time is spent campaigning and appeasing voting blocs than actually governing.

I can also agree with this. This is where we ended up, and maybe where we were always destined to end up considering our system of government.

i sometimes struggle with this.
i always come away realizing that any other method is more susceptible to absolute corruption.
there's plenty of room for corruption in capitalism, but you can still find your way out of it or above it.
i.e. a corrupt socialist in charge leaves no room to escape and he's hurting me for my own good. a corrupt capitalist in charge leaves a chance to escape and he's hurting me for his own good.

Conservatives have been conditioned to think capitalism must mean "private businesses can do whatever they want in the market"
We obviously need market forces, but with controls for the national interest, limits on their culture altering behaviors etc. It's not rocket science - you are free do conduct business but not free to harm society.

But who signs the permits to allow that ugly shite to get built. Everything goes back to politicians F-ing us. None of those ugly shite apartments would get built if politicians weren’t scum bags stuffing their pockets with bribes from the developers.

Western Civilization decided to play God and not let Darwinism do its job.
Instead of survival of the fittest, we now have a culture that rewards weakness and pays the least productive among us to breed and feed.
That all sounds cold, but it's true.

Capitalism is the best egalitarian economic system in practice…..if you want to know why Capitalism becomes more crony than egalitarian you need to understand the Federal Reserve/Fiat Monetary System and their connection to Big Banking and Wall Street…….and the political class. If you could have a honest one on one with Nancy Pelosi, Mitch McConnell, Maxine Waters or numerous other Swamp politicians they could tell you in great detail how the US Corporatocracy works.
