A War Department official tells me exclusive details about the firing of Brett Sylvia

“Army Lieutenant General Brett Sylvia, who was part of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, was fired by Secretary Hegseth for severe misconduct. Although Sylvia’s title was director of the Directorate for Strategy, Plans, and Policy at the Joint Chiefs of Staff, known inside the military as the J5, he was NOT a central planner for the Iran War. That is the responsibility of CENTCOM and its commander Admiral Cooper.”

“Sylvia is the subject of an investigation for leaking classified information about the Iran War, the war between Russia and Ukraine, and more. Due to the Pentagon’s media policy requiring journalists to have escorts in the building, Sylvia began meeting with journalists outside of the Pentagon in order to leak classified information.”

“Sylvia failed three polygraphs which questioned him about leaking classified information. The investigation into him remains ongoing and has been referred to the Department of Justice for further action. The extent of his leaking became so critical that Secretary Hegseth took immediate action and fired Sylvia in order to protect national security. Urgent action was needed and could not wait another second.”

The Atlantic and MSM news is untrustworthy. They are essentially saying OMB is purging to deflect Iran blah blah blah

Failing polygraphs for leaking classified information, isnt a purge, it is a long overdue dismissal.

Post more facts, if you see them. Too bad the MSM news cant be trusted...

If he leaked classified information, he shouldn’t be allowed to retire. He should be charged, tried and if convicted, face the requisite punishment for his crimes

That fricker is a disgrace to my beloved cavalry Stetson. I got my cav Stetson and spurs back in 99 as an Abrams tanker when I wss attached to a mechanized infantry unit, 1-5 CAV with the 2nd Brigade Combat Team (Blackjack) from the 1st Cav Division, even though i was actuallin the 1st BDE (Ironhorse).

Pres. Truman fired General Douglas MacArthur.

This stuff happens occasionally.

Got mine (along with the gold spurs and knots) with the 1-13 CAV, 3rd IBCT, 1AD as the squadron SIGO.

Those cav frickers are bonkers.

TYFYS!

It is said the matter was referred to DOJ after an investigation. Shouldnt this go to court martial?

Yeah apparently Trump heard Sylvia in a presser and thought it was a female...

Can't be briefed constantly.

He was fired. That's just the first step. He can still be prosecuted.

I'd love to just release him into a group of folks like you. The problem would be taken care of, and a legendary story would follow.

I’m not sure how a court martial would even play out. There’s really no precedent.

A board consisting of other 3 or 4 star generals, I guess. Or, since it’s an offense against the UCMJ as a whole, maybe the Joint Chiefs, including the Chairman, sitting as a court martial board.

Thanks for your service! I feel your pain, that's how I felt about the clown of a general, Mark Millie wearing my beloved 101st Airborne patch. He should've been shot by a firing squad for treason. He went behind Trump's back to side with China, but he was a big arse-licker for the worst president in our history! I think he deserves a bullet to his head by a firing squad.

Yeah, I don’t know the depth of the charges against Sylvia, but on the surface, what Millie did appears to have been magnitudes of order worse. He literally went behind the C-in-C’s back to communicate assurances to the military of an adversarial foreign power.
