This has been known about MLK for a while.
common knowledge for anyone who was awake during the 60s.
He could never have made it thru any current DEM confirmation hearing - they insist on moral purity in the sexual arena

So MLK was the Original Diddy.

MLK and Joan Baez....Obama and Jennifer Annison. Chocolate sure does like it's Vanilla.

That’s nothing compared to what’s in this file which is separate from what Trump is supposedly releasing and will be released in 2027. If this is true there won’t be a MLK statue or street left in America because we’ve already set the precedent on such things with other historical figures and MLK won’t be immune to it either.

J Edgar Hoover, the bureau’s notorious director, believed the material gathered by his agents in the Sixties exposed the civil rights leader as a “notorious liar” and “one of the lowest characters in the country”.
It included a tape which, according to an FBI summary, recorded King laughing and offering “advice” as a fellow Baptist minister “forcibly raped” a woman just a few minutes walk from The White House in Washington DC.

The tape recording, which is resting under court seal in a National Archives vault, will not be released until 2027.

Whenever I see his family getting presented, I always laugh to myself knowing full well he was a grifter to the nth degree.
Yet his family is still trotted out like they are a dignitary.
If those 2027 tapes are true, why would the government continue to even mention him knowing what they allegedly know?

I think that was the case with King. A great man, but not a good man
Please unpack this so it makes more sense?
he had bad character posing as a minister while running around banging various women in different cities, but his vision for the "negro" being "free at last" was some kind of great new revelation noone else could up with??
please advise what you mean great men are seldom good men

Who among the prominent black leaders today openly speaks in praise of mlk ?
They’ll praise him but when will they ever echo his message?
Almost never.

was "I have a dream all men are created equal" or Malcolm X and black separatism.
Malcolm X was far more honest. He was more honest about his own people, and the other groups in his community- whites, jews, and others, and how they could get along (or not).
I think history may have vindicated Malcolm X.

But if the pedo stuff wasn't fabricated he belonged in jail.
Considering current events, who really knows how much of these files could be embellished or outright did not happen.

It matches other known data that Hoover got on him.

Susan Collins would not have voted to confirm MLK in a cabinet position.
