October 2019 is starting to look an awful lot like August 1914.

We badly need to withdraw.

Not saying the letter is not authentic but how do we know it's authentic?

“We’re not worthy!!”

There will never... ever...be another POTUS like Donald J. Trump. He is exactly what our country needs right now. Some may see it as a bad dose of medicine ( like Castor oil) but this is what we need....Like Churchill was to Great Britain.

Probably not, because here's the White House on October 6 (three days prior):

quote:

Today, President Donald J. Trump spoke with President Recep Tayyip Erdogan of Turkey by telephone. Turkey will soon be moving forward with its long-planned operation into Northern Syria. The United States Armed Forces will not support or be involved in the operation, and United States forces, having defeated the ISIS territorial “Caliphate,” will no longer be in the immediate area.

I don't know how a leader of any country can receive a letter like that and not think "frick, this dude might be a legit mad man,"

I have said this from day one with Trump. He was the only one, both election cycles, that would make a despot foreign leader take pause about screwing with us. Can you imagine how feckless Obama came across to this ilk of leader? The other clowns circa 2016 and 2020 can't cut it with Trump's gravitas and unpredictability.

That is some good protection right off the top by having Trump. It's unheralded, intangible things like causing pause in that manner which add value to Trump's Presidency.

You don't have to be diplomatic when you have all the leverage at the negotiating table. In short, he's saying we really don't want to have to crush your third-rate country/economy, WHICH WE ABSOLUTELY CAN, so don't try to be a hard arse and lets work towards an agreement.

Dictators and de fact dictators don't give a shite about nor respond to diplomacy. They only respond to expressions of power. And on the world stage (both from a military and negotiating standpoint) NO ONE wields more power than the USA

Just the right amount of frontal lobe dysfunction or narcissism. Preferable to the usual pussy-footing language of diplomacy.
