So, you aren't touting a shotgun as the perfect weapon anymore?
My work here is done.

This. I’m starting to think that a .22 semi auto would be a lot more manageable in a closed space than an AR too. The concussion from an AR-15 in an indoor range is hard enough to feel in your chest, I can’t imagine shooting one indoors with no ear pro and just waking up disoriented.
And contrary to popular belief, if you shoot a human in the chest with a .22 hollow point, they’ll drop without a second thought

For the simple minded: there is no perfect weapon for home protection.
Keep that AR. Buy a dozen. Take selfies, and send them off to Soldier of a Fortune.
If someone is foolish enough to get at, near, or in my house without invitation, I hope they have that AR with all the cool attachments.

Never attraction of an AR, they look like toys. How many times do you get a shot at shooting someone attacking you outside of a 50 yard perimeter?
The AR shoots five deadly projectiles in five trigger pulls. A tactical 12 gauge shoots sixty and doesn’t require the accuracy. And there’s nothing in close quarters that stops an intruder without firing like the sound of racking a shell in a shotgun.
This is some Fudd shite right here.

Plus I can shoot varmints with it and the ammo is cheaper

Well, it seems to work pretty well for people who kick in doors for a living.

I own an AR and glad I do but with people attacking close range you are better served with a shotgun or a handgun. Even video game enthusiasts know this.

No they don’t come into our neighborhoods. Remember the police actually protect us. All hell would break out if they even stepped into the burbs

If you are only wanting to protect the inside of your house, I suggest a Savage A22 rifle in .22 magnum it's small, light, fast and accurate and much more powerful than a .22LR. You can buy an extended capacity Mag for it. Also get a pump shotgun and a good used 9mm pistol.
You can buy all of these together for less than $1,000 and you would be covered in almost any situation.

wouldn't use buckshot for those same reasons, but bird shot can do a lot of damage at close range without the collateral damage.
I have #6 shot in my shotgun. Will definitely give someone a bad day. Besides it’s the psychological aspect that a perp experiences when they hear a shotgun being racked after the 1st shot.

Yep, that's what I told you several posts back. Glad that it sunk in. You should eat more fish, maybe a whale.

I prefer the AK myself. Bur for close range 1 Buck or maybe the first one is a slug followed by 1 Buck

.22 is fine for picking off varmints, but there is no way I'm depending on a rim fire for life or death protection.
As for the loud report with an indoor trigger pull, you'll never hear it. I use a 30.06 inside a shooting shack deer hunting. Never noticed it being loud in the adrenaline filled moment of the shot.

No one is scared of you, racist.
We just don’t want you playing with matches in our neighborhoods. We taught our kids to never play with matches and that destroying other people’s property was not OK.
What about you? You ever taught that?

I've never owned an AK, but mostly, because I am just more use to AR/M-16. I've been using them for over 40 years. I only have 1 AR, it's a Colt that I bought in the mid 80s, it's been a great rifle, even though I treat it like crap.
I was thinking about getting an AK, just for the hell of it, but then I thought, "Man, you've got enough guns, it's time to stop". It's been a couple of years since I bought anything new, now I just buy more ammo. It's 1 step at a time

So does a tactical shotgun

I mostly agree with you, something else is better, but a .22 Mag rifle is pretty damn stout. I got my first 1 just a few years ago, and was really pleased. Bought a few more since then.
