Before we have the discussion, do you agree that no Marxist society has been successful and in fact is a horrible economic structure?

Her station is a poster with a different worldview.
You are dragging her kids into this, for disagreeing with you?

Are we in too deep now? Is there a way out?
No, but the solution is long term. We have to take significant measures to keep inflation low while growing the economy steadily. You can't quick fix massive inflation; its going to take a multidecade, disciplined process. We need to engage in massive government subsidization cuts to education, housing, and medicine, and avoid artificial government stimulation of the economy.

That is true and more successful companies can pay more and have greater benefits as a result of their success.
Why should Walmart pay more when their workers will be subsidized by the government via welfare. Especially when said welfare will end up in Walmarts pockets anyway?
Almost like welfare keeps pay down.

The more you give about yourself in this site the more it will be used against you later. People have deep memory in the internet. It's why so many top posters are no longer here.
Cubbies has shared a lot about her life here. For better or worse. I personalty disagree with the random sniper attacks but that's how this place and the OT have always been.
Especially to female posters.

For all we know, she/he/it is a twenty something Antifa with an internet connection ...
Unless someone doxxed OP, we have no idea if anything it writes is honest ..
But most of the commentary is dishonest so there are signs ...

I don't really recall seeing you on the PB much before, so I will assume you have no idea how much of a snarky person she is here. She is dismissive and acts as if she is above everyone here, and people are just tired of her BS. She is also not innocent of personal attacks, as that is her go-to snarky response.
Stop white-knighting for her.

There is nothing special about females here. I have noticed someone like SFP getting more attacks than cubbie, is SFP female?

Disposable income of your average US citizen is at an all time high, and still the world leader.
And ironically the areas in which there are issues with income relative to prices are almost entirely areas with the most government interference. Healthcare and housing being the best examples.

If Walmart existed in Marx time he would have a volume of books on it. I hate Walmart yet still find myself shopping there a lot.
I prefer my local family owned grocer like Zuppardos that gas every register open and dozens of employees all over to help shoppers. Meanwhile at Walmart there are 4 lanes our of 40 open and all self check out. While the bulk of their employees are shopping for online orders.
Oddly enough as a kid I had a neighbor who was a WW2 vet who was a greeter at Walmart and his wife a cashier. They both had decent cars (Taurus and a Sable) and put their daughter through catholic school. In two walmart salaries.
Walmart changed how they treat employees.
But they are the nation's biggest employer. Amazon also is horrible to work for yet I can't stop using them. I ordered something in bed last night and woke up to it at my door. As a consumer I love that.

I concede that for sure, but hardlegging and attacking over personal info are two different animals. During my time here I have seen no special focus put upon female posters vs male posters is my point.

I haven't read the 7 pages of this discussion yet so forgive me if what I say has already been covered.
Capitalism is built on the Law of Supply & Demand. Not the theory, not the hypothesis, the Law.
What Saltman/Wolff are discussing is consumer decisions, but trying to pass them off as industry mandates. That's bullshite.
The freedom of consumers is a feature of capitalism. In this case it's the freedom of consumers to engage in stupid amounts of debt for non-essentials (excluding extraordinary events like unexpected illnesses, etc).

I read this in article by Kenneth J. Saltman, “The Austerity School,” and the claims track. Is this a failure or feature of capitalism?

4 cubbies one day:
"I am against more government control and interference! We can't trust the government to run any kind of justice system!!!!!"
4 cubbies the next day:
"Let's discuss Marxian economics! Where a shift to that system would require the state to seize complete control of production and economic planning to dismantle capitalism and result in short term absolute state control!!!"

Now imagine if we had true capitalism in America, and also the boomers didn't sell out our country for globalization and cheaper trinkets
Yes on capitalism and making boomers say sorry, but I’d add - if we could get American men between 18 and about 45 on testosterone therapy. Now you’re talking about a remarkable American economy.
