I’ll always remember Mitt Romney absolutely making Obama look inept in their first debate back in 2012. It was almost not fair how out of his depth Obama looked. Mittens carved him up one side and down the other.
Right after that, Mittens …..inexplicably went into a complete shell the remainder of the campaign.
That, combined with Obummer getting a very enthusiastic assist from “moderator” Candy Crowley in the 2nd debate…..and the rest is history.

These are things that some people on the right, far right, some MAGA, and conspiracy theorists believe. The other 75% to 80% of the population laugh at, don’t believe, and make fun of those who do.
75% to 80% is probably to low. 50% of the people that voted for Trump don’t believe Obama or HRC is the big bad boogeyman out to overthrow the US government.
90% plus of the people that voted for Harris don’t believe Trump is out to overthrow the government. They just don’t like him and think he does or says stupid and bad things
