the industry standards are no one should have been around the camera, they should have been out of the shot watching monitors
whatever he fired went through her and hit the director behind her, sounds like live ammo to me

As much as I don’t care for Baldwin, this is in no way his fault unless he messed with the gun prior to that scene.
Then go ahead and tell us why he would have any reason to point a gun at the Director of Photography and the Director and pull the trigger?
Do you really think that was in the script?
If this happened to fellow actors who died and the scene called for him to shoot them, it would not be his fault.
But that didn’t happen. He pointed a gun capable of killing people at people he should not be pointing a gun at, and the stupid prick killed someone. Negligent homicide. Guilty.

Let me tell you what's going to happen. Baldwin will get away with no charges and he'll double down on his anti gun bullshite. He will become the leader of the anti-gun movement and be loved by all of them after "suffering through such a tragedy that wouldn't have occurred if we didn't have these killer guns everywhere." Bank on it
oh, and
oh, and

Actors on set are not responsible for props. There is a prop department for that. The prop master runs the prop department and should be responsible for making sure the props are setup for the scene in question. The gun was loaded with blanks and there should not have been a projectile discharged. The actor isn’t responsible for this he is literally handed the gun just prior to the scene and hands it back when the scene is over.
There was another famous incident like this with Brandon Lee where an old spent bullet was lodged in the chamber and when the blank fired it dislodged it. It was an accident.

For all the armchair people in this thread. Here is a detailed account of what went down that day. This is going to fall on the armorer for the production. They are responsible for all weapons in set and their status. She fricked up not Alex. Checking the gun is NOT his responsibility. It’s just simply not how it’s done on a production.
quote:
The actor was preparing to film a scene in which he pulls a gun out of a holster, according to a source close to the production. Crew members had already shouted “cold gun” on the set. The filmmaking team was lining up its camera angles and had yet to retreat to the video village, an on-set area where the crew gathers to watch filming from a distance via a monitor. Instead, the B-camera operator was on a dolly with a monitor, checking out the potential shots. Hutchins was also looking at the monitor from over the operator’s shoulder, as was the movie’s director, Joel Souza, who was crouching just behind her. Baldwin removed the gun from its holster once without incident, but the second time he did so, ammunition flew toward the trio around the monitor. The projectile whizzed by the camera operator but penetrated Hutchins near her shoulder, then continued through to Souza. Hutchins immediately fell to the ground as crew members applied pressure to her wound in an attempt to stop the bleeding. Late Friday, the Associated Press reported that Baldwin was handed a loaded weapon by an assistant director who indicated it was safe to use in the moments before the actor fired it, according to court records. The assistant director did not know the prop gun was loaded with live rounds, according to a search warrant filed in a Santa Fe County court.

Feel free to quote the law that says as long as someone else tells you a gun is safe you are absolved of all responsibility if you shoot someone.

THIS ^^^^^^^ a thousand times. How many here
would point a gun at someone and pull the trigger
no matter how many times you were "told" it was un-loaded.

In Florida a gun is a dangerous instrumentality and in your possession you are personally responsible as is the owner

Written as of the bullet just magically jumped up out of the gun on its own.

Yeah, it's been a long time since I've seen him in anything but from what I remember he just plays himself. He absolutely sucked as Jack Ryan. He was a dick in Glengarry, a dick in that one where he was a surgeon. He's only convincing as a dick.

If anything, at least we won’t have to hear the gun control argument from this asshat any longer.
This will only embolden him to go harder after gun safety. The left does not apologize, they double down on their crimes. They stare at you and tell you to frick off while doing things you want to do while telling you it’s bad.
Baldwin will settle this for pennies on what cities have doled out for cops doing their jobs. Nothing will happen to him or anyone else in crew because this will just be a tragic accident.

To whom is he referring? Who wrongfully killed someone?

The pic of Alec speaking with his attorney on the cell phone is heartbreaking. I am relieved that he’s holding his mask, however. If we can save just one life...

Exactly. If you weren’t sure if Hollywood press would protect their elite, here is proof. No where does this say he pulled the trigger or fired the gun. If James Woods did this, you better believe he would not get the same treatment.

Ammunition flew towards the victim = someone got shot
His penis fell into her vagina = they fricked
The money immigrated from the bank = bank was robbed

Journalists get the rope first.
Reminds me of deciphering realtor speak:
Cozy = cramped
Great view = house sucks
Hidden gem = it needs a lot of work
Investor special = it’s a dump
Lovingly maintained = someone put a lot of their own personal touches on things that you’ll spend a ton of money to undo

If Martha Stewart had to go to prison for something Congress has self-exempted themselves from, the Alex Baldwin should be prosecuted for involuntary manslaughter. To not even convene a grand jury for this incident would be the very definition of elitist privilege.

Plaxico Burress, former NFL WR, did jail time for accidentally shooting himself in the leg in a club. Just sayin.

It was a period piece so a revolver. Sounds like a live round not a blank. Was the gun fully loaded, or just a live round in the first chamber. Apparently the guns were not secured on the set. Maybe someone, hmmmmmm.
