Ok. So I come up to you on the street and shove a shotgun in your face. You defend yourself. I shoot you. I’m good to go, right?
Meet me at the Sonic. I’m bringing the Benelli.

How on earth does this post have all downvotes?
Because you don't know what you're talking about.
Georgia law allows for a citizen's arrest. You need to have immediate knowledge (have witnessed yourself) someone commit a felony. If someone resists and tries to grab your gun you can shoot them in self defense. Since they had just committed a felony they cannot use the stand your ground statute.
Now, that doesn't mean they didn't do anything wrong. They need to have witnessed this guy committing a felony, if they didn't then they couldn't attempt a citizen's arrest.
But your characterization of what happened is ignorant of the law and probably why it was downvoted into oblivion.

Man, I tell you, It might be legal to make a citizens arrest, but there are very few situations where a person should actually do it.
I don't own anything that is worth somebody dying for, maybe firearms, because there are other issues involved, other than just value. I sure don't want somebody to die, for my neighbor's TV, or play station.
If somebody's safety is involved, or if somebody has been physically harmed, If the perpetrator is a danger, I can see doing it, other than that, just take pictures of the guy.

A bunch of y’all are saying the man was wearing Timbs and carrying a hammer.
What difference would it make if the man was wearing Timbs and carrying a hammer?

Seriously? That’s your evidence? GTFO.
I don’t know the brand but those are definitely hiking boots.
This story is a perfect example of why we can have a civil discussion today. We have to write a narrative of the victim being a Boy Scout on his way to church while jogging for the homeless population.
We can’t hold two truths.
1. He was looking to steal something.
2. He was murdered by two idiot rednecks with a power complex.
The guys should still go to jail for a long time.
If I kill a hooker, I am still guilty. But don’t turn the hooker into a engineer when you write the story.

Agreed, but courts of law don't care about what people should or shouldn't do. They look at what they can legally do.
Not throwing in my two cents, just pointing out the legality of it all.
This is all going to boil down to whether or not they witnessed him committing a felony. If not, it's likely first degree murder.

If they find the stolen gun in his apartment will you admit he is a burglar?
What about a stolen hammer in the street?

They’re not hiking boots. Look at the video of him in the house. He’s wearing some sort of athletic shoes. Unless you’re proposing he had two pairs of shoes on him and changed them.

What stolen hammer in the street?
Where was it stolen from?
When was it in Ahmaud’s hands?

Does it matter since he's on video burglarizing a house???
Cept the owner said nothing was stolen from the open construction site...

Earlier in the tread, there was blow up from the video showing what looked like a hammer in the street. The guy that was shot was supposedly on video (also posted this thread) checking out a house that was under construction. It's reasonable to think there may be hammers laying around a job site. So, if it is a hammer it is also reasonable to ask where it may have come from. The whole thing is fricked up in so many ways. Sad to see one life ended and two lives possibly ruined because of bad decisions.

The weilder of the shotgun was clearly standing on the driver's side of the vehicle when Ahmaud attempted to avoid him and run around the otherside of the vehicle. The altercation clearly started on or near the passanger side of the vehicle, meaning the gun went for him, not the other way around.
These guys, particularly the son, will be convicted of Murder in the first. Appropriately.

Sure. Except no other mention is made of a hammer anywhere that we know of in the witness discussions.
