Schultz has a messiah complex. He thought he could end racism with his book "Racism is bad, nkay?" He thought he could promote gay marriage by telling those opposed to stay away. He fiddled with the idea of running for President after Trump won.
He is the opposite of Ray Crock, the McDonald's creator who was perfectly happy that nobody knew who the hell he was.

Interestingly, although they never outright publicized it as far as I'm aware and certainly didn't do this for any sort of SJW motive, McDonalds had/has? a specific policy of locating their restaurants at Interstate exits, with easily accessible bathrooms for use of anyone with no real requirement that they purchase anything, under the business assumption that, by doing so, you'd get a lot more people actually purchasing things in their establishments.

They will be forced to close the troublesome addresses, and build in the most civilized areas.

if this policy stands, they will have to start shutting down a bunch of their urban locations
Sounds like the health department should start monitoring the bathrooms more often.

In a Starbucks subreddit, people are voicing concerns that the new policy will lead to stores being filled with homeless people and drug users.
Their source is Reddit?
Seriously?

Someone claiming to be an employee who works at a store in the loop in Chicago said they hate the new policy because the store bathrooms have turned into a hub for drug activity. “We haven’t been allowed to change our bathroom codes since April. So almost all the junkies and homeless people know the code now. About once a week we find needles, drug baggies, blood all over the toilet or walls,” the user wrote.
Bet they don’t supply the employees with all the required hazmat materials to clean those bathrooms and dispose of the needles & drugs as required by law.

Last time I was in there, a passed out derelict was taken out on a gurney by paramedics and another one who lectured me for 5 minutes about not giving him money was arrested after he did the same thing to a tourist, who then called the cops. Good times.

They have a right to set store policy as they see fit. The market will decide and they will live and die by their decision.

Stupid policy. If you live around poors find a new spot for coffee.

I have a place on West Lake Street in Chicago. I can say with certainty that some of the Starbucks locations have been very “Chicagofied” in the past month.
Homeless people sleeping inside or right at the door, pissed off employees, etc, Really bad timing with this new policy coming just as spring shows up.
Also, Peets Coffee is better.

Starbucks is so dumb. They could have just said:
"We deeply regret this incident and want to make it clear: our bathrooms and premises are open to any customer of any race, creed, gender, sexual orientation, provided they have or intend to purchase a Starbucks product. We will ask anyone to leave that has not purchased a product or does not intend to, regardless of who they are, and we will make sure we try our very best to stick to that policy for all people."
The end.
