Not all of El-Sayed’s commentary has disappeared: In one episode that remains online, he questioned whether football could be “ethical” or “safe” and linked the sport’s “ethos” to narratives used to justify slavery and westward expansion.

In a statement released by his campaign, El-Sayed claimed he had no way of knowing that the American electorate would become this stupid during his lifetime to allow him to hold such a powerful office. Had he known this, he would have lied back then as well.
