That's the boat I'm in. Will encourage my son to move elsewhere.

Most of my family has left LA. All conservatives.

Why anyone would pay LA state income taxes to live in that shithole is beyond me

Seems kind of cruel to move her when she's almost in HS. I may as well use that TOPS I've been paying for all of these years too.

I left in 2018 for the great state of Mississippi. Grass has definitely been greener. Lower cost of living and are on pace to have our best earning year yet not to mention no more private school tuition.

I left right after college and came back a few years later for a job opportunity. I have since gotten a Master's Degree and I never thought I would leave again. The last governor's election was the final straw for me. I am planning to retire in the next 2-3 years and am researching places to settle. The only thing I am going to miss is the constant LSU news and being able to attend every tiger sporting event I want.

Sounds like the makings of a great governor!

Any wonder that these 3 states choose not to tax peoples incomes and how good the quality of life is and the amount of jobs in these 3 states you listed?

I'd rather my income be taxed than my home. Texas has the 6th highest property tax in the country. If you don't pay it, the government takes your home away from you.

I left once and returned- HUGE mistake.

Will retire in a couple of years and leaving the following day!

Born, raised and educated in this state- there is no longer a reason to stay.

Who ever leaves last please turn the lights off

If I were in a position to leave, I’d be looking at Texas, Tennessee, or Florida.

Work and family make that a nonstarter until certain milestones are reached or some people die.

This is my situation as well. In about 5 years we will be leaving. I've defended it all my life, but this place just fricking sucks now.

If I had a young family I'd leave for Tennessee, Colorado, NC or someplace like that. It just gets more difficult when your kids get a little older.

Same here. I will be advising my kids to get out. I'll follow them when I retire.

My parents retired last year and left Louisiana to be near my sister and I in the north Atlanta area. They’re very happy here.

My dad and I go kayaking on the weekends in the mountains of Georgia and North Carolina.

80,000 people is almost the size of Lafayette. That’s a staggering number.

We left 7 years ago and also left about $75,000 for Catholic school educations. In Texas now and with that money my 401k would be greater. One of my son's also in Texas. My liberal son still back in BR!!

A crap ton of Hurricane Katrina refugees were sent to Houston and NEVER LEFT. You can have them back please.

These were the poorest of the poor and they just stayed.

Thanks

Counting down the days until I can leave Chicago. Latest date is September 1, hopefully I can be out sooner.

Who didn’t see this coming? Tax payers will continue to leave in droves too until nobody is left to foot the bill for the massive spending in this state. Our state deserves this cause morons voted for it.

I have 5 years left until I’m able to leave. Hope the state makes it that long.
