At some point the Powers That Be will force the voucher-taking schools to teach "correct doctrine" (e.g. homosexuality is OK, abortion is OK, all religions are equally valid--except Christianity) or lose the funding.

As I mentioned earlier, this is exactly why Christian schools refuse the federal dollars that they are already entitled to.

I did to, but it's really not about that. They always camouflage the real intent.

If we had to pay double the tuition to send them to private school there would be enough children moved back into public school that the private schools would be shut down.

Then they would have absolute control over the indoctrination of children, kind of like the Nazi party did.

You can bet the kids would get "basic gender fluidity", "neohindu veganism virtuosity" and the "global warming conspiracy" education.

Control. Power. Domination.

At least she's honest. Their agenda isn't about bringing everybody up. That's impossible. It's much more feasible to bring the successful down.

Yeah, I'm not buying it. In 2019 if a person of color dedicates themselves, they can accomplish anything they are talented enough to do.

“Das” is a German word.

“Right” is a dog whistle.

You’re Hitler.

Am I doing it right?

(Dang. Now I’m using them.)

False. The (upper end) real estate market within those geographies would collapse. Of course, that would lead to a collapse of the tax base, which would lead to a collapse of the school systems, yes.

My God (no pun intended), but have millennials totally ceded proper parenting to the state?

We do too. We pay for the schools and choose not to use them.

I would uphold a change banning these schools or promoting a requirement that an amount equal to the tuition of these schools must be paid into the public school system.

Now there is some convoluted logic.

Every student that is in private school already financially benefits the public schools system because they aren't in it.

The further benefit the public school because the parents are still having to subsidize public schools with their taxes and their kids don't even attend.

you can't get everyone to think alike about everything unless you control the education of the youth.

we must all appreciate diversity to the extent that we are all biracial, trans, queers who all think alike on all subject matter.

This is one of those articles the socialist-loving media floats from time-to-time just to "start a conversation."

Those who do this are, of course, pure evil. If you support banning private schools, you hate liberty and this country.

The Last Sentence is what she wanted to say the whole time.

Well, THIS is what those evil private schools have given me: My daughter is graduating next month from the Private School she has attended since 1st grade. She's always on A-B Honor Roll, active in 3 sports, won a National Competition and was invited to and participated in the New Years Day Parade in London this year. She'll be at LSU in the fall. I don't think PRIVATE SCHOOL has deprived her of anything except gangs, drugs, fighting and pregnancy.

Please let New York ban private schools. Please let them outlaw religiously affiliated schools.

If you do not like public school, the private school route is:

- pay private school tuition
- pay public school taxes
- tax money used to send a kid who's parent is milking the system to same school via a voucher.

This Privilege thing is not all it's cracked up to be.

*curricula, plural of Latin curriculum.

These people think they’re so smart, lecturing us rural simpletons, then make a grammatical error that shows they aren’t nearly as educated as they claim. 538’s editor needs an English curriculum.
