The dad shows up, speaks with his dying son. Then says I forgot my phone, so leaves his dying son and drives to a store to call for help instead of just using his son's, who we know had one becausehe had just called his dad for help. Then drives back to his son with a random 17 year old girl from the store..for what reason did she randomly go for a ride with a stranger to a triple homicide? Something seems fishy.

He's not strong enough to lift him, and the shot up, beat up boy is too weak to do anything. It's not easy to pick up a good sized man, who is dead weight. He probably wanted to rush somewhere to get some first aid stuff, so he could do whatever he could to save his son, while waiting on the ambulance. Not a lot of people have stuff for gunshot wounds in their vehicle. Maybe more folks will start.

Phone may have been dead by then. Also, the cell phone's GPS tracker would be guiding emergency personnel to the crime scene, since the guy probably called 911 too. You don't want to mess with that phone.

It's a rural area, there aren't very many random strangers. The girl and the father probably knew each other.

All of those seem very logical. I can only imagine a million things going through the father’s mind, but he was 4-4 on doing the opposite of what would have been best.

Luckily in my area that's not a big concern for me but it is in my rig if I decide I want to.
But this world has gone ape shite and I'd rather have it and not need it, than need it and not have it. The only decision I make, based on where I'm entering, is whether to carry my compact. 380 in my pocket, or appendix carry a .45 1911.
Haven't needed either so far, and hope I never will.

I'm sure it's a well known, much used area, locally. Not the kind of place, that someone would pick to do a big drug deal.
