Sugar Bowl Attendance vs New Orleans Bowl Attendance

Back in December I said the New Orleans Bowl would have more people than the Sugar Bowl and you all laughed. Turns out the Sugar bowl only had 5,000 more people. Pretty shitty for a BCS bowl with a mighty SEC team. Gotta give props to the Cajun fans for showing up and supporting.

The difference in ticket prices should be noted.

New Orleans Bowl = USL's national championship 2 hours away.
Sugar Bowl = slight disappointment for Gator fans who were hoping to be in Miami and had to drive 10 hours to NOLA.
HUUUUUUUUUUUGE difference.

jesus it was a 2 hour drive for them. let them go play in bowl outside of Louisiana before you pat your fans on the back so much.

Do you know know much farther Gainesville and Louisville are from New Orleans than Lafayette is? Congrats on making the <2 hour drive.

So... you were wrong? And now you're bragging that you were only slightly wrong?
Cool.

It was a 2 hour drive.
If it were a location that required a plane ticket, ULL would have had < 7,000.

So a fan base 2 hours away traveled better than a fan base 8 hours away?

Keyaw some jealousy in this bitch. Sorry for carrying the torch for Louisiana.

I dont see any jealousy, I see ULL fans proclaiming great things on high, when if you put them into perspective....arent that great.

If UL is so inferior why did we even come close to having the same attendance for our bowl?
Nola Bowl = 11am on one of the busiest days of shopping aka last Saturday before Christmas
Sugar Bowl - BCS + mighty SEC + prime time slot Wednesday night.
A friend and I made the drive to Gainesville for the Florida Game, where we were suppose to lose by 27. If we can do that, I don't see why anyone is complaining about the drive to a BCS bowl where Florida was favored by 14.

Florida never travels well to New Orleans, and Louisville was just here for the Final Four. These are things that were said when the match up was announced and people were predicting shitty attendance. Turns out, those people were right.

Keep fighting the good fight though. I am glad ULL won and always root for them when not playing LSU, but yall are making this into more than it is.

He's "offically" wrong, but actually may have been right.
The excuses in here are almost as funny as the excuses why Florida lost or Bama lost to Utah.

If you look at the sheer number of fans/alumni/students...it shouldn't have even been close. The fact that it was 2 hours away was a bonus. Is it our fault that they have a bigger fan base that doesn't care?
I'd much rather have 20k dedicated fans than 50k fairweather fans.
