Because they’re expensive
Bingo.
When you can go buy a Weatherby/Howa for $600 now, it kind of makes paying $1,500 for a Browning a stupid move on the old pocketbook.
Besides the newer Remington 700, which is a complete piece of shite now, most any modern bolt action from a reputable gun maker is going to shoot awesome. Browning is just kind of paying for a name now. None of their firearms are really unique anymore like they used to be.

Because they are a budget rifle made for ease of production but sold at a premium price. Of course, nowadays so are most others. So the Browning rifles aren’t any worse than anything else. And often those cheap or cheaply made rifles will really shoot.

I have a X bolt Micro .308 that is my favorite rifle to hunt with.

Both of my X Bolts were purchased new in the box for less than $700 off Gunbroker, when a $50 company rebate was figured in. Shipping included.

Long range. The 26” barrel with that muzzle break is a work of art.

I dont like them because they are ugly. They look like space blasters to me. If youre gonna buy an ugly gun there are cheaper ugly guns available.
The push button bolt lock is a pretty cool feature.

I have a .300winmag Hells Canyon Long range with Thunder Chicken suppressor. Thing is so damn fun to shoot.

I have a 7mm 08 A-bolt I got as a kid in 98 and do not plan on ever buying another bolt action rifle for myself as I still like it more than anything else I pick up on the shelf.

A-Bolt .280 Stainless Stalker and A-Bolt II 30-06 Medallion-both sub-MOA with no mods and factory ammo.
Considering an X-Bolt Hell’s Canyon Speed.

Don’t misunderstand me, they are more expensive for a reason, just not a reason the average doe killer worries about.

have an A-bolt 270 with the BOSS system . It’s a tack driver .
Same here it was given to me as a gift in the late 90’s and is still my go to deer rifle.

Because they’re expensive. I’m a huge Browning fan but you can buy nearly three Savages for the price of a similar caliber Browning or two Tikal’s and they will be very similar in accuracy.
Exactly this. I love brownings but I decided to save money with tikka and reserve the balance towards a better scope

Well I'm glad somebody mentioned them on here. I was just thinking about getting one in 6.5 PRC.
I own this one in the Hells Canyon Speed. Very nice, smooth, and accurate gun.

Is that an X Bolt you got NIB for $500?
If so, that was an excellent deal.

I always shot abolts and loved them. extremely accurate.
I got an xbolt white gold medallion a few years back in 30/06. beautiful weapon. Shoots like garbage. Could never get a better than a 5" group at 100yds. Tried multiple bullet weights and manufacturers. Scope is swarovski and was double checked by the local gunshop. the rifle is currently at browning service trying to address the issue.
would not recommend. maybe i just got a lemon who knows.

The "modern" looking X-Bolts have taken a while to grow on me. I think the lines of the A-Bolt were pretty great. The Browning Safaris have some of the purtiest lines of any rifle ever built.
