Why is the Browning X Bolt not a more popular rifle?

I have two of them and they are well made and accurate.

But I don't see much mention of them by many hunters.

Well I'm glad somebody mentioned them on here. I was just thinking about getting one in 6.5 PRC.

Probably because browning is notorious for building shite firearms.

My dad's citori hes leaving me is trash. That and his sweet 16 my brother gets. John Browning was over rated.

Haha I kid. I bet that got someone's attention.

I have an A bolt is 300 WSM that my wife gave me for our 1st anniversary. It’s a tack driver and kicks like a mule. I’ll never sell it.

Growing up I though the pinnacle of firearms was my uncles A bolt. He let me hunt with it once and I felt like Rambo walking through the woods. Shot a doe with it

My mom and step dad bought mine from my step brother's orthodontist in 1997. He was left handed and couldn't get used to the right handed bolt. A-bolt SS 30-06 with Leupold 3.5-10x40 scope and Leupold rings/bases. Got it for $800.

Because they’re expensive. I’m a huge Browning fan but you can buy nearly three Savages for the price of a similar caliber Browning or two Tikal’s and they will be very similar in accuracy.

Don’t misunderstand me, they are more expensive for a reason, just not a reason the average doe killer worries about.

I have the Long range version with the McMillan stock in a 300 wsm. It is a tack driver! Just talked a buddy into one.

Because there's too many options at their price point that are as good and likely better. They aren't bad rifles necessarily. I've had 4. I still have 1 of them. One of the other 3 was so so and would hang around moa with the right ammo. The other two wouldn't hold moa with anything I ever found. I don't even consider them when I go to buy a rifle nowadays. I'll take a Bergara or Tikka over them every day

I personally I don't like the appearance of them. A little too futuristic I guess? I like the A bolt better.

But that's just me and means nothing.

I like the A-bolt better than my 2 x-bolts, but I like my x-bolts better than the Tikka I had. Granted the Tikka was nice for the price. Haven't handled a Bergera. I'd like to buy a couple older a-bolts in different calibers, but there's a reason nobody is letting them go.

I’ve got the X Bolt Hell’s Canyon in 6.5 creedmoor. Absolutely love the gun.

Also have the discontinued browning A Bolt in 270 WSM. Love it too, but it’ll knock your shoulder off if you’re not ready.

I'm sure xbolt is a fine gun although the people I know who had one couldn't get them under MOA. I just don't like the looks of the magazine plate or housing or whatever that is. A bolt is a lot more classic.

Abolt action is the smoothest action I've ever worked, like butter and when it locks it is locked. Only action that comes close is Mark V old Weatherby. Xbolt feels production line, but better than others mentioned on here.

Because Tikka and Bergara are making far better guns

Original A-bolt was amazing. X-bolt a decent gun. AB3 is trash
