I finally closed a knife on the tip of my pinky.

Not that I had been waiting for the moment, but figured one day I'd mess up.

That sucker was sharp!

Been there... Also, this past season skinning a buck after flowing some aluminum cans.. Dropped my favorite knife. To prevent the blade smoking the concrete slab and damage it I tried to break the fall with my boot. Would you have it the tip of the blade went right through my new pair of lacrosse and into one of my toes. Should’ve let the SOB fall.

No but I bought a new Kershaw leek and was terrified of doing this. OnceI handled the knife for a few weeks the worry went away. Its just so sleek and the blade is a razor.

Yep. I was probably 6ish, so this was 30ish years ago. I was sitting on top of the kitchen table. My dad had just given me a knife, which I still have and use to this day. Closed that sucker on my finger. Got stitches.

Nah. But I was doing my trick of catching the blade of a springloaded one a while back.

Had ingested a few too many adult pops and deployed it straight into my thumb :lol

Eta: it hurt, but I didn't make a peep until I started apologizing repeatedly to the wife to stop the bitching.

Still have the scar.

Haven't done so since though.

Me as a kid. Stabbed a tree for no reason. Non-locking blade. Closed on my right pointer finger to the bone. Mother made braces out of tootsie pop sticks.

Did on a knuckle once and took nearly a week to seal and it scabbed for another couple of weeks.

I remember being 5 or 6 and picking up my dad's Buck locking folder while he was in the shower. He always told me not to touch it because I'd cut myself. Thought I'd show him. Tried closing it and failed. Left it on his dresser open and bloody and hid in the other bathroom trying to bandage my wound. 35 years later he still has not asked about it.

Trying to wedge the rubber latch on my cooler in place, closed a case trapper on my pointer. Slung my hand out to knock the knife off, but it was stuck. Still can’t feel the tip of that finger. Super glued it.

I've held the wrong side of my butterfly knife while opening before and slammed the blade across my knuckles. That's a painful lesson.

Don't think I ever have. I prefer Benchmade mainly because the Axis lock makes it so easy to one hand open and close with having to put a digit in the blade path.

My latest addition to the EDC rotation...

Mini crooked river? I’ve been looking at those lately, but haven’t pulled the trigger yet. Nice knife.

13 years old, brand new Buck 110. Slices my thumb opening it one handed, a few weeks later closed on my index finger closing it one handed. I still use the same knife but now it has a thumb stud. Also since Clames added his newest EDC, I’ll do the same

I was hammered in college trying to poke a hole in the top of a beer can when the knife I was using folded on my pinky. Damn near cut the thing off.

my first ever knife was a cub scout one like this. It's still the most dangerous knife I own as far as closing on fingers, which I did multiple times. Takes way too much pressure to close the blade and when it closes, it snaps to 90 and then snaps closed. Interestingly, the other tools on the knife lock, but not the blade. Terrible knife for a kid

No. But I once grabbed the vertical exhaust pipe on a farm tractor to help get my lazy arse out of the seat.
