re: Dog Food

Pro Plan all the way. I field trial and occasionally hunt test and hunt my competitive dogs. Fed it for 20 plus years with excellent results. Tried some cheaper foods but always went back to PP.
Thanks for responses. Chene sizes won’t work for me. Also, neoprene is definitely out.
Looking for advice about the KUIU Waders, and how they compare to Sitka. Interested in these two companies because they may actually have a size that might fit me.

Also, any thoughts on their warranties?
Purina Pro Plan chicken and rice. Fed My field trial/gun dogs Purina for 20 years without one single problem.

Interested in same info or any other outdoor related suggestions regarding Maine. Headed there next week to take a run at the National Amateur retriever trail.

Been training longer than I care to remember. I use a Garmin 550. Consistent, reliable, and give you more than enough stimulus options. Also has a bark collar feature that comes in handy.
I have Directv. Sometimes the login works but most times not. I know others have the same issue. Anyone have any suggestions? I’ve logged out, deleted the app, reloaded but get the same thing.

Field Trialer here. Been feeding Pro Plan for 20 years. Hard to beat. Full disclosure, Pro Plan is a sponsor, but that’s what I’ve feed forever.
The boat is a 2018 War Eagle 754SV. It’s the stick steer model with a 50 HP Yamaha and 24 v spotlock. I’m located in N LA, so a long way from the places mentioned. Anybody know of a reputable dealer in N LA that will do consignment? Bought it knew from Ludwig, but they aren’t interested enough to even return a phone call. Might try the FB market place but would rather avoid it.

Best site or way to sell fishing boat?

Just don’t use it much and don’t want to deal with the scammers.

3 yr old active field trial and gun dog.

Fed Purina Pro Plan for the past 20 years with zero problems. Tried others but had inconsistent results at best.

Once a day in evenings Fannie gets 2.5 cups per day plus whatever she steels from wife’s poodle. That varies from nothing to about a cup.

Hard preferred, but open for suggestions. Zippers are a pain.

20 +/- QT Cooler Recs

Looking for a cooler around the 20 quart size. Not really wanting to pay the Yeti price, but the number of knockoffs is crazy.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
fp
Water Dog is very outdated and nothing, no amount of hype and marketing, can compete with a well bred and proven American Labrador Retriever.

Lardy, Farmer, Rorem, and many others provide much better material. Even Hillman and knowning him somewhat that is a hard thing to say.

Just do a little research and you should be able to find something that will suit your needs.

Good luck,
fp
I found the original photo. She was 21 months old when taken. In the pic below she was 16 months old. She had just won the Lone Star derby and placed second in the qualifying.

[/img]

She jammed an Amateur at 22 months that gave her the QA2 title, jammed an open at 27 months and has aOpen 2nd and 3rd as a 2 year old. The dog continues to amaze me and I’ve been doing the a long time.

BTW, she is not for sale. Someone is going to have a lot of fun running her. It might as well be me.
I think she was around 18 months old when I made the picture. I’ve always trained and handled my own dogs, and Fannie is no exception. I’m retired now which certainly helps, but I’ve trained and handled an FC AFC and an GRHRCH while working full time. It can without a doubt be done.

Fannie is simply a freak. Sweetest most compliant dog ever with excellent eyesight and high prey drive. Just a great combination.

Young parents with kids is a different story. Extremely difficult to pull that off. Time demands to be competitive in field trials can be too much especially when you have small kids. Unfortunately it isn’t a great family sport for that reason. However, many families have a ton of success and fun in the hunt test game. This isn’t a knock on hunt tests, in fact I highly recommend it.

Fannie is 3 now but the derby award is for dogs under 2. The awards banquet was postponed twice by Purina for various reasons.
