Wow, these stories really show that when shite goes wrong duck hunting, it can really go wrong in a hurry.

Things can go bad anytime, but you also have to remember back then weather forecasting was much worse (hard to believe) no cell phones, etc...

anyone that ventured onto lake maurepas/ponchartrain /borgne back in those days and earlier can attest to that.....

lake borgne took a lot of lives back in the "old" days..

back then when you got stuck.. YOU WERE STUCK

I don't duck hunt so these stories are pretty wild to me. I don't plan on it either now.

That shite won't happen in a rice field. I hate marsh hunting. This only furthers my views on it.

Same here, I'll go in woods when its that freezing, but don't go on on the water. I remember the year those guys died off Manchac right before Christmas.

What about 2008 when it snowed?

We didn't make it to the blind, but we did snowboard behind my truck in a huge field behind the new Blue Cross in BR. Slingshotting your buddy on a snowboard behind a Z71 is big fun!!!!

I don't like going out in fog unless its an area with no workboats, you can not pay me to run in the ms river in fog anymore. Having a kid changed my feelings drastically on that.

what did me in on fog was not workboats but a jack leg in a big bayliner that almost ran right over us and the 4 boats following me...... and yep.... hairy boat ride while wife was 8 months pregnant was the end of that crap for me..
