I've posted about this location before, but that swamp off I-10 between Gonzales and LaPlace used to be the greatest mallard shoot in the state of Louisiana. It was truly unbelievable. Stayed that way until the salvania ran all the ducks out.

Pretty sure this is where the first DC video was filmed.

SOme great stories, it sucks this freeze couldnt have brought ducks down like the past ones have. It was 19 this morning, we kept having to break the hole back open every 15-20 mins. Brother sent me a pick of this morning, was 17 back home.

In 83 we had over a foot on snow and was without power for a week. We all slept in the living room around the fire place. The pond ice was a foot thick in places.

In 89 we had a lot of ice under the snow. We went rabbit hunting and killed a deer. We did some serious playing in that ice on 3 wheelers.

1989 freeze. Senior in high school. Christmas break. Epic beatdown of ducks.... Limit was 3.....

Did have 3 buddies get lost on an attempted Woodrow roost shoot up on the Loutre. Them fools tried to wade a spot and one of them cut their waders on some ice. Massive leak. Not a good situation when it's like 9 degrees. Then they got all turned around trying to find the boat they came in on. My bro almost bit the dust that night.

People were scooping up dazed redfish and specks in Myrtle Grove Canal, Happy Jack, etc.
Game Warden were citing them for over the limit... they said you can only keep the limit instead letting people utilize the fish.

Made no sense to anyone.
