Lol trimmed all the way down you're still gonna throw a bigger wake coming off plane in a real boat

ess than 20MPH MF, my glitter boat will stay on plane at that,

So the ol huge arse wake with the bow 8 feet high maneuver?

Just lay the damn thing down and idle if you can't pass wide. You are going to catch zero less fish. There is no good way to go down a narrow cut on plane passing boats.

The drag race hand signal works well.

One finger up and shake it fast pointing forward.

Exactly what I’m talking about.

“I’m off plane but I can’t let it idle” so I’m going to throw you a 3 foot wake.

I do agree. Most boats need to pass on plane. But, when you’re too dumb to either stay on plane or idle past, you may not have the intelligence for a boat

That always works fine for me.

Its not hard to figure out. If you have to pass close pass slow. If you can pass wide do it fast.

Why? You're creating a larger wake

Not if you idle instead of chugging like a dumbass.

Got to hurry up and find that 3lb kicker to go with your 8lb sack you got in livewell for a club tourney?

Either idle like you would in a no wake zone or fly by. Slowing down to less than 20 is just gonna throw a bigger wake. And if you don’t know this you probably shouldn’t be driving a boat in the first place.

I’m not a boat guy.

Someone point me to a YouTube on these two ideologies and why their idea is better than the other.

Also,

Tell me. Is this a fishing thing or a safety thing?

1. Do fish scatter in a wake while fishing or does it negatively affect them?
Or
2. Does it affect kayakers and glitterboaters that they have to brace themselves.

I’ll be honest here, I’ve canoed every thick and skinny river in NC/SC.

I’ve always waved boats past me as it is just a reality of being on the water. In fact, I’ve felt like I was an impedance on boaters. Just go by me and I have the equilibrium to handle 9 wake waves.

Maybe you need to reevaluate when to come off plane.

I always slow to idle speed unless I am "on top of them" when I see them. And an idle speed throws 5% of the wake that my boat does at WOT.

You just need to slow down in advance.

eta: If I don't see them in time to slow to an idle speed, I do run as fast as I safely can and stay as far away from that boat as I safely can.

I’m talking river or wide bayou.

Narrow canal or cut? Probably not on plane to begin with and back off throttle if someone is fishing it.

in a tight area I will slow down far enough ahead of time to not hit them with my wake from coming off a plane.

This. Any small boat I see I come off plane way in advance.

I will also state, that as a boater, you are responsible for your wake.

If you swamp a boat, kayak, camp, etc. if they have numbers from your boat and video or whatever, you will be responsible for any damages.

Ok Barney

If your craft cant handle a head on pass from a 20' bass boat at 16MPH in marked boat row then its not seaworthy.
