Youngsville update

Still raining as all roads in/out are closed due to high water

A beautiful home over looking the lake at Sugar Mill Pond was struck by lightning early this a.m. House has yellow CAUTION tape surrounding it as all doors are wide open and you can smell the fire / smoke damage .

Wow! F*** this storm. They're saying it's supposed to be round 2 tomorrow. But more north and west. Carencro was spared today. I may not be so lucky tomorrow. We'll see.

The rise see me to be slowing up in Walker, it's only come up a few inches in the last few hours. It was coming up a few inches an hour. Still about 6 inches from getting water, hoping for the best.

In Thibodaux, it's been a steady rain since daylight but just light enough to still drain. Swamps, retention ponds and canals are now full.
Rain is currently picking up. Everything from BR will be here throughout the night so I expect a quick rise in the waters

Just left a friend of mines moms house off Port Hudson Pride rd bordering the Comite. Holy shite the water was about 3' and rising fast below her house. Luckily we got the vehicles out while we could. His 91yr grandmother wanted to stay, but for obvious reasons we had to get her out to safety. At this point I couldn't get my truck to her so we called a friend with a boat and picked her arse up and boated her to safety. It was awesome to see, but unfortunately a lot of damage will be done before this ends. Here's a pic I snapped of the evacuation.

I have picked up my dock and the 3 neighbor's and lifted the boats for the time being. I expect to see a big rise when I wake up in the morning.

Water is holding steady in Hammond for the time being. We were close to flooding last time but it has not reached the same point as it did in March yet. Hopefully Hammond can avoid anything major and this sprinkle will be all we get.
