I've been seeing a lot lately around our area near Youngsville. Awesome birds to watch.

I have a pair whose main tree is in my backyard in BR. It’s a perfect vantage point for them to survey prey. I like to practice casting my rods and reels in the backyard, and the kites have made that difficult, thinking my baits are food items.

I've been watching 6 of them hunt every day for a few weeks from my office window in Baton Rouge.

This one landed on the powerline in front of my house on Saturday. Been seeing them and the swallow tails a good bit around here this spring/summer. (Pensacola)

My favorite bird ! They are so acrobatic that it is insane. Supposedly they are the only bird that can catch a dragon fly

Later in the summer when I start bush hogging they will keep me company and attack any rat I kick up. They are really a joy to watch and are fast as greased lightening
