They are constantly gliding over our neighborhood.
I've read they eat mainly insects, with some small rodents and little critters like lizards, frogs, or birds. Neighbor said he saw a couple tear up a squirrel nest to eat the young. I later witnessed one repeatedly swooping toward an area in a big Live Oak, probably on a similar mission.
