Man dies from boating accident

I’ve read a lot of these boating accident stories and there is just something fishy about this one. I think it’s strange that two guys are just fine and one is missing. I’d like to see these two guys in front of an interrogator. My bet is that they would fold like a window shade.

I had almost the exact same thing happen to me 2 weeks ago, I was wearing a self inflated life jacket, walked away freezing cold with a busted hand. An hour later I was dry and warm, couple days after that my hand was fine.


Wear your life jackets when running, shite happened in a split second. You'll forget you're even wearing the self inflatables and they're pretty cheap at Academy.

Victim was a owner of a well known business in Gonzales, I think he had recently sold his part???

Fished Hopedale this morning. Was foggy as Hell until about 9:30. Saw 2 boats running wide open with no lights on at about 6:30; no one wearing life jackets on either boat. Thought how crazy. Prayers go out to the family.

I went out this past Sunday. Leaving the launch, was foggy, then realized a little away just how bad it was. Ran for most of the way at about 15. Stopped early to put on life jackets and attach kill switch. shite got so bad at one point, I was at an idle. Seriously questioning my judgment. Fog is incredibly disorienting.

You're exactly right. I went fishing last Friday and fog was so thick I could barely see the bow of my boat. I had a track on my GPS so I started putting over to my fishing spot. Next thing I know I hear an engine that sounded like it was coming closer, so I start hitting my horn. It kept getting louder so I kept on the horn in hopes they would hear me over the motor noise. Turned out it was a guy out pressure washing his pier at the butt crack of dawn....lol. But not too long afterwards, here comes the morons flying along on nothing but a GPS. No radar, no lights, just lots of stupid.

This guy was friends with FIL of my buddy. Sad situation and comments about wearing PFDs in adverse running conditions are correct. I heard one of the survivors was able to swim to shore.
