The younger guys, this is all you know (tags, rules, reporting)

Not a younger guy, I’m almost 50. I’m for tagging because all the years that I watched people kill way more than their limit. I know guys that would kill 10 plus every year. I’m not talking does, I’m talking 10 small bucks.

Just be glad I’m not in charge, I’d hammer trespassers, poaching, and not tagging. I mean hammer with fines and restitution. I hate a damn poacher and tresspasser.

I would change it to 4 does and 2 buck tags only. With the option to buy additional doe tags.

Like it or not, there are rules because of people that just take more than others. I.e. American Buffalo

I'm anti green jeans and don't think they have a right to take your phone or board your boat. frick em.

But damned if some of you baws don't think that if it has 4 legs or swims, you should be able to harvest it day or night, on someone else's property, or harvest as many as you feel is appropriate in your own mind.

I have heard of people killing deer in April just for shites and giggles. Bragging about shouting a buck with about an inch or two of velvet. It makes no sense.

When they ask you to hand it to them to show them your license on LA Wallet. Or once it is in their hand they can just hold it up to your face. LA Wallet is convenient but I always bring the paper copies of my hunters license, duck stamp, wma/nwr access, boating license, and driver's license in case I were to have to show them.

Thanks. Do they have the right to look through your phone?

so based on your experience you assume everyone kills over the limit which is justification for more rule and oversight? You think people who shoot “too many” stopped because of some bullshite tag?

Need to hammer poachers and trespassers anyway.

Nope but, a tag system allows for the ability to prosecute the ones that get caught.

I know you can’t legislate morality or integrity but, you can hammer those that lack either.

I hunted with a buddy one time in the River bottom. We had a 2 man limit in about 15 min one morning. It was ridiculous. We picked up decoys and had to fight big ducks to get them in the boat. We made a moral decision to put our guns up and get out of there because had we stayed we could had filled the boat like a hoop net full of catfish. It was a weekday a not another boat around us. My point is, you can either do the right thing or not.

I appreciate those green jeans when they find the guys that don’t bag their guns on those days.

I have no problem with this either. My issue is never ending rules forced on to a majority of law abiding citizens, the purpose of which is not to save the deer or even catch a few more bad guys, it’s to have more fine collection opportunity based on technicalities; makes writing tickets easier to accomplish with even less work.

Found the bootlicker. Go pay another tax so the government will continue to grant your temporary permission to kill their ducks.

The bootlicking comply or die crowd really worships them some government, don't they?

If a kid has everything but a form signed properly just tell him what it could cost the next time...but instead its a tax collection. And possibly one less kid hunting which means one less hunter in a world where hunters are getting more and more rare....but comply or die and all of that....

Yes the fishermen both looked like they were retired. Over 1 fish, it just sends out a bad message about law enforcement when they are constantly trying to build better relationships with the public.

Law enforcemnt could care less about better relationships with the public. Their idea of the relationship is to do everything they say without question and if you don't run the risk of going to jail or worse. They are supported by morons who love them some government until they are the ones dealing with the government and then the government is too much....

And the ultimate goal of more rules, laws, etc. is to justify gov growth. Identify a problem, gear up to “fix” said problem, be it for safety, the chirruns, saving the deer, saving the planet, etc. The self-licking ice cream cone.

Just ‘cause gov is “saving” what you might enjoy or love does not mean it exists for your benefit.

I try to watch these shows every once in a while but never make it to the end because I get pissed off

One comes to mind, and I'm paraphrasing here... The SE Texas green jeans came upon a dead buck on the side of a backroad with the antlers removed. The deer was clearly hit by a vehicle and green jeans admitted as much. This was not a poaching or hunting kill.. It should have been over right there..

But this clown proceeds to spend countless hours and days investigating who could have possibly cut those horns off of roadkill. After a huge waste of taxpayer time and money, he tracks down an oilfield baw and ask him if he noticed anyone coming in or out.. then asked if he did it. The ol'baw was like yeah...I cut the horns off that already dead deer.. It was a small 8 that someone hit with their vehicle and I knew my lil baw would love to put the horns in his room.. Was that against the law? Old cowboy hat green jeans proceeds to lecture him on just how illegal it was for him to do that... I turned the channel..

does Mr Green Jean have the right to look at your phone? I would say no. Like any cop they use their power of authority to abuse your rights.

Not without a warrant. The 4th Amendment applies to your cell phone. Now if folks chose to give up that right, then that's on them.

I personally think they do not, but if you have your license on there and have to hand it to them for them to check the various licenses on LA Wallet, I could see them saying you voluntarily handed them your open phone at that point. Slippery slope.

LA Law

You folks do realize much, if not all of that show is staged?

Think Duck Commander meets the Kardashians meets the Bachelor.

Tags are a good control to control the honest folks. However, we need a better tagging system. Printing your license and tags yourself, on paper is not a good system IMO. When, not if your wallet gets wet in south LA, everything sticks together and you can't read anything on it. If LDWF requires a license and tags at least make them fit the environment. Get a license printed on water resistant paper and a tag system similar to DMAP tags. South LA is mostly water and paper and water does not work and the tagging system is easily manipulated by those that want to. Also, what is it going to take to get the fish hatchery back in operation?

You print tags and license? I think most folks just have them on their phones now. It's pretty quick and easy to tag your deer on the app.
