They come across as pricks. Harassing a dude behind a locked gate on his own property was BS. Taking the kids duck was BS. I wonder if the Head of the Green Jeans don't allow them to give warnings on the show to scare people into obeying laws.
My all time favorite was when they stopped the two guys and they had 51 trout. And he took the one trout and fined the guy for being over limit

They give plenty warnings - actually now a days their system tracks the warnings.
Considering LA's long history (it's gotten better over the last 40 years or so) of possum cops looking the other way and most LA hunters scoffing at nearly every law we are like other states now.
THey are sticklers for the WMA check in thing.
over the limit is over the limit, if your wife fricks a coworker just once, you gonna giver her a warning?
questioning a guy on private property - most violations occur on private property and behind locked gates.
The scope of probable cause for possum cops is a little broader if you are in the act of hunting/fishing or obviously returning - your license in most states even says that. On state and federal land the scope is even greater.
heck I got a warning hunting at night once.

Yeah that is some bullshite. Idk what wma this was but we got a pintail problem in CenLa, they need to up the limit.
As for can game wardens look at your phone? I'd have to check but I figure since the WMA login can be done on the phone and hunting licenses on the ldwf app, I would think they could. With Face ID on many phones its probably hard to keep them out if they get their hands on it.

I'm not going to get into the politics of it all, but I do think most of you need to understand how different the policing of our LDWF laws are vs other states (and how lax they are).
I got an $800 ticket in Bama for having one more person on my boat than it was rated for and this was the only time I ever took my boat out there.
Meanwhile, I fish weekly in South Louisiana and the only time I have ever seen green jeans is when they were doing voluntary questionnaires. I've never seen them check what I kept, never had one approach me on the water, never even seen a law enforcement officer on the water. Likewise, I've fished North LA around the kisatchie all my life and have never once seen a game warden out there.
We need to be honest about that. You can get away with a lot in Louisiana, way more than any of our neighboring states.

On the show there was an episode in which this guy killed and tagged a deer. But Green Jeans saw some old dried blood in the bed of the hunters truck. He then proceeded to go through the hunters phone comparing pictures on the phone to the bed of his truck. Then the hunter confessed to not tagging some deer. Look I believe 100% in following the law. It’s the law enforcement tactics of both LDWF and normal cops I have issues with. I guess I’m just hardcore on protecting my rights.

Yes the fishermen both looked like they were retired. Over 1 fish, it just sends out a bad message about law enforcement when they are constantly trying to build better relationships with the public.

No one going to mention the Secretary of LDWF being indicted for corruption and bribery recently?

I abide by all laws. I have no ax to grind with LDWF. But I will tell you that the older field officers who were sincerely interested in protecting wildlife and promoting safety have retired or will be retiring soon. These are the guys who were young hunters once and realize at one time it was a hunting license and duck stamp and that these youngsters are enjoying the outdoors and not selling dope.
Here is the problem, your game wardens today are individuals who cannot get employed by city, parish or state law enforcement agencies. Some did make it to campus police. Being a wildlife agent gets them a gun, a brand new truck, the best equipment that money can buy and the same law enforcement authority as the state police. The true "game wardens" have retired. This new bunch are more like the Nazi SS. They intimidate, lie and and their abusive behavior goes unchecked because the hearing officer system allows criminal charges to be heard by other government bureaucrats who are lawyers who could not make a living other than being hired by a woke government agency.

In another episode Lady Green Jeans stopped a Hunter before he went into the woods. Lady Green Jeans asked for his tags which he had on 1 of his 2 phones in which he inadvertently left in the truck. Lady Green Jeans told him that if he would been coming out from hunting he would have received a citation for not having tags. This is another terrible instance, if has a deer and doesn’t have tags that’s a different story. But not killing anything and getting a citation is BS. I am against text a tag because of exactly what Lady Green Jean said I mean what happens if you don’t have a signal? I’m also pretty sure that app tracks your location.

I can vouch for the first half of the paragraph.
There are a few true ones still, especially the internet monitoring agents. Move with the times. But yeah, i saw that in the mid 1990’s. Blacktop agents are what the academy was turning out. Also, Federal workplace quotas. Women & minorities.

"But it is the letter of the law"
Those guys had no intent to violate the creel limit with one fish over. I remember 40 years ago I took my 13 year old son and 2 of his buddies deep sea fishing. On the way back we got stopped by a water patrol and we were one fish over. It wasn't intentional and with three kids and one adult trying to keep count we were one over. In fact, we probably made a count of what was in the box and in the process of shuffling fish around missed one. I will always remember the game warden saying its easy to miss one fish and that we were ok. He recognized we were not outlaws and a responsible adult had taken the time to take these boys fishing and teach them the sport. Today, I would have gotten a ticket from the current class of agents who all exhibit signs of being picked on by other children when young or were the bullies picking on other children.

I got the exact same ticket a few years ago but I was checked the day after I hunted 14 miles from the WMA border and I did not hunt on the WMA.
Total horseshite.
