Between my son and me we killed 3. 2 nice six points and a 7 point.

Saw deer almost every hunt and passed on a bunch of smaller bucks. A couple years ago we started passing on spikes and small bucks and the deer are getting better each year.

Got a nice old 8pt 230# buck and a few does. Parents, boss man, in laws, and Mandy in accounting all got the does. I kept the buck and took it to Benoits. It was fun watching my 9 yr old daughter make the processing order. "I want some of that, and that, and that...."

Ours was down substantially too, probably closer to 40-50 pounds. We had multiple bucks come in at 180, which our normal average for 3+ year old bucks is probably 225 if not more. Southwest Miss.

Terrible year for killing. I saw tons of deer but nothing I wanted to shoot. My 14 year old got two. He kept seeing lot of deer even late in the season. He just puts his headphones and watches stuff on his phone and looks up every once in while.

Our property is in DMAP and was given 60+ doe tags. We were told to "thin the herd big time" by LDWF in Monroe.

Killed 3 in LA. 7pt, 8pt, and a doe. This was one of the best seasons I’ve had as far as finding sign and seeing bucks goes. I let a lot of small bucks walk, missed a pretty solid buck with my bow, and saw a couple shooters out of bow range. Also, the amount of big rubs I found this year was insane. I feel like I definitely found big buck areas on multiple wma’s throughout the state, and I can’t wait to hunt them again next year.

ETA: pics of some of the bigger rubs I found. The first 4 pictures are a rub line with a good bit of smaller rubs in between. The 2nd is a closeup of the 1st with my bow for size reference. The 4th is a trail cam pic of a horizontal rub that had a big scrape under it. I spent a good bit of time hunting that area and passed on a couple smaller bucks, but I think I found it too late and it was after the peak of the rut there. 5th picture is a rub I found very late in the season and didn’t get to hunt it as much as I wanted. 6th pic is a rub on a rub line I was hunting when I killed that buck. Maybe he made it, maybe there’s another big one in that area still. Finding big rubs gets me fired up more than anything else. They might not get worked as consistently as scrapes, but at least they let you know there’s a big buck that is somewhere around that area.

Killed a doe, a little rack 5 because I hadn’t shot a buck in 2 years then another 5 but he looked like a cow horn looking head on from 400 yards. I thought I was doing the lord’s work

Thanks. I see about 8 deer per hunt in average. I usually see more bucks than does though and it’s been like that for 10 yrs.

Have considered dmap but really do not want anything to do with LDWF.

what I like about DMAP is that when you turn in your jawbones, you get the report back where the biologist aged the deer. Its fun to see how old some of them get. Also, we get two extra weeks of modern rifle after the close of primitive.

A nice 8 point, a 7 point and a doe. Let a ton of spikes and other does walk. Let an old 7 point and a big 8 that I thought was a young 8 I had been seeing almost every hunt slip by. Only went a couple hunts without seeing deer. Best season we had in 10 years.

Gotta get my eyes checked this summer.

Sometimes it helps to re-sight your scope midseason. You'd be surprised how much they get knocked around, especially if you're hunting with 11 year olds.

I did okay. Killed two small bucks. Spike and four pt. In area nine. But I missed A nine point and gut shot and lost a decent six point.

Had a great season overall for our group 16 deer were harvested.

Almost all the kids in our group were able to get one. Buddy had a life time memory hunt where he killed a really good buck and his son got one with him on the same stand 30 minutes later. 2 kids got their first deer this year.

I haven't killed a deer in 4 years. I could have killed my limit this year. 3 bucks and a doe is our limit. 6pt or better. I let my kids try to kill. My daughter struck out 2 years in a row on an 8pt. My 9yr old son couldn't get comfortable on a 6pt or 8pt at 125 yds. He killed his first deer, a doe, at 225 yds this year. I was excited as hell. My daughter will shoot next year and once she kills it's time for me to get one.
