Been many years since I've been there but what is Caney Lake, north of Minden, like these days ?

Awesome...clear water, lots of coves for fishing, big side waterways for skiing. Launch that sells gas.

The only downside that I saw was a beach that is part of a State park....looked like whose who in mental illness.

They've got some good places to ski in the Basin off of the Boutte La Rose exit.

Please enlighten me?

Would like some quiet areas in South LA to take the kiddos.
I used to ski the vermilion and Henderson when younger.

Lake Rosemound used to have a ski lake and a fishing lake. Anyone know if that is still the case?

This is true. I've been out there a couple of times this year.

Lake Bruin and Lake St John are nice too.

Old River. Just north of False river. There's a good spot on the eastern side of that lake. Runs North and South. Usually easy to get out of the wind. Much less boat traffic than Flase river.

That is a fishing lake, no skiing.

If you do, watch out for logs just under the water.

Pearl River Navigational Canal, specifically between Lock 1 and Lock 2. Provided you are not on a holiday weekend. Conditions are perfect and have been for years.

There's a lake in Pineville that used to be a popular ski lake. Can't remember the name though.

Can you guys recommend some good lakes for water skiing?

It's not a lake but the Ouachita River is awesome for skiing, especially the stretch past Moon Lake going up to Sterlington. We used to camp out at the big sand bar by Moon Lake and ski till our arms about fell off.

Cane river it nice because it is lined with trees and there is not a lot of chop due to the wind. it is also pretty narrow though, so you can sling someone up on the bank of you are not watching what you are doing.

I like the Ouachita river on any day except sunday. it is also tree lined, so the wind doesn't mess with you too much and wide enough to keep you off the bank. there are services available on the river and lots of camps, houses and houseboats along the banks to keep it interesting.

Indian Creek in Woodworth. Just don't go 1 mile over the speed limit getting there. You'll end up in the Woodworth Dictator's Kangaroo Court.
