If False River is too crowded for OP, Lake Rosemound is definitely too crowded. The part of the lake for watersports is tiny.

skiing on lakes in general sucks because the wind over big areas makes the water choppy. find a river, and ski the portion that is 90 degrees to the wind, so the waves don't have time to develop. the banks also absorb the waves and wake. Ouachita is great in north la. Tickfaw is good, but gets traffic. go down tickfaw to natalbany river just north of the prop stop. blind river from the interstate to diversion canal.

The intercoastal canal at Floyd's Marley Marina in back brusly is a ditch, but is perfect for skiing

Like someone said earlier Old River batchelor, LA.

It is deep and extremely wide.
You could launch from Old River landing and you right there in prime open deep water.

I think I posted this when this thread was started several years ago but it is still truth. I used to love skiing the river, especially around the Sterlington portion. I grew up on that river. We had a houseboat at Walls Lake and a camp in Rocky Branch. Boat traffic tends to die down big time once you get North of Moon Lake and the scenery is unreal.

Ouachita is a beautiful river, at least from turkey crick to jonesville. Where the SI hills meets the river is pretty.

I live on Allen creek behind Snake Island and across from Kings Point. Allen creek runs SW to NE and isn’t too wide. The wind rarely blows down the length of the channel so it acts like a river in having consistently calm water. And the water is pretty clean considering it’s a Louisiana lake.

The weekends are pretty busy down here though. It’s where most people head for the smoothest water. It’s got some nice ‘Sandy’ beaches and sand bar. This is on Lake Claiborne.

Which bridge? Because if you're talking about the Madisonville bridge, the traffic from their to just south of I-12 is insane. Used to ski there but no more... way too dangerous with the traffic.
