Indian Creek in Woodworth. Just don't go 1 mile over the speed limit getting there. You'll end up in the Woodworth Dictator's Kangaroo Court.

There's a lake in Pineville that used to be a popular ski lake. Can't remember the name though

Does lake Rosemound still have a skiing lake and is it decent?

Yes you can still ski on the north lake. Most weekends it is serviceable, but not on holiday weekends. Only 4 boats allowed to ski at a time. Issue is how short it is. Lots of turning all day. Fine for tubing, kneeboarding and even wakeboarding to an extent. Not going to work for wakesurfing, which I don't even know if they allow. Had a camp there for 30 years unti l2 years ago. Still go up occasionally with friends who still have a place.

If you are heavy into water sports, there are much better lakes than Lake Rosemound to own a camp at. If atmosphere, fishing, proximity to BR/NO are more important than water sports, there aren't many better places to own.

Indian Creek is where I learned to kneeboard. Friends had a place on the east side of the Strange Rd bridge.

It's very dangerous now. Schooling bass could jump up and hit in the face!

Lake Claiborne. Cleanest lake in the state.

Lake Bruin, the state park has cabin rentals and a launch. Like most other holiday weekends, this one will be a zoo. Seems like everyone bought a wake/surf boat during covid. Otherwise, on random weekends the water is smooth and quiet.

The Red River. With the locks & dams, it’s one big lake from Shreveport south to Avoyelles Parish

Intersection of 28 and 121 is labeled Gardner on the map and Gardner Baptist Church is on the corner. That is the closest "town" when looking at a map so that is how I always tell friends how to find Kincaid on a map.

The addresses are still Boyce, but Gardner is probably 4 times closer to the lake.

Anywhere during the week or before noon on a weekend is good. The new wake boats with their ballast tanks for wake surfing make it miserable on any narrow river around here. No way you can teach a kid or a kid who is just learning can survive those waves.
