I came across this a few months ago on facebook and just noticed it on my computer soo i figured i would share it for those of you who may not have seen it and always wonder how much groceries you need for a jambalaya and instructions. I honestly would like to know how long it took to make this spreadsheet. Who ever did it is an Excel wizzard.

He has an app.

One of the only paid apps I have.

Quick question - on the app and spreadsheet, it mentions to boil the rice hard until it pops. Can someone give me an idea of how long we are talking about? 5 minutes? 15 minutes?

Will rinsing the rice affect whether or not it pops?

I think its normally around 7 to 10 minutes for me.

You will notice the rice plump up a bit.

I don't really worry about this part as much, that's more for the people doing competitions.

No idea on the rinsing part

Not nasty, but far inferior to Jambalaya

A good pastalaya > good jambalaya. But everyday jumbalaya is better.

Jambalaya Calculator

I think its only available for I-Tunes? Or maybe the other way around, I don't have it. If I'm cooking a big jambalaya I just print out the spreadsheet.
