Update: Weed free zone has managed to kill everything. Including the grass. Pretty sure I got my dosage wrong and over treated my yard.......

re: 2019 Lawn Thread - CajunCommander
Backyard is looking rough. So far I've identified the following: Clover Henbit Annual Bluegrass Canadian Thistle Sowthistle Nutsegde hasn't shown up yet but always does. Looking like fertilome weed free zone should be my best bet? Any other ideas? Should I be laying something down...

re: What's the law really say? - CajunCommander
Few years ago, I watched a small buck get hit on a road near campus. Middle of the night, everyone gone for holidays. That backstrap tasted just as good as the ones that I shoot ...

re: According to the USFWS there are 2.6 million fewer hunters today than in 1991 - CajunCommander
A majority of the hunters are hunting closer and closer together.
This can be the only logical explanation. Seems like the amount of "hunters" has doubled in the past 5 years. The affect of social media doesn't help either....

Water levels in east central LA - CajunCommander
With all this rain and high river levels, what are the water levels like around the confluence area? Red River wma, grassy lake, 3 rivers, Dewey, etc. is backwater up and out of control? Wondering if any of the roads in that area are navigable... by truck, not boat....

re: Where da ducks at? - CajunCommander
We hunted NELA Saturday. Saw a good amount of birds. Flight birds high. The ones within in range wouldn't even think about working close enough to call a shot. Plenty of action on the call and the jerk string. Never fired a shot. Was easily the most defeated I've ever felt after a hunt....

re: Life Jackets and waterfowl hunting - CajunCommander
It's a shame that it takes a couple boats sinking and a guy losing his life to make me think twice about how I navigate big bodies of water while duck hunting. Specifically MS river at night. Not to mention most of the time I'm hunting out of uninsulated stockingfoot waders. Would be a struggle ...

re: What is a Good Pirogue for Duck Hunting? - CajunCommander
Bump. Trying to break down a buy a pirogue. I like the Chapman Cottonmouths but if I'm loaded down with gear and dogs I don't have much room for error when it comes to taking water over the sides. Only other one I'm looking at are the critter getters. But looking at the specs, the sides are ...
