Bow hunting deer
Jarreau, LA
Overgrown fence line between hayfields
68 degrees, clear skies with light east wind
1990 Golden Eagle Orion with 26” XX75’s tipped with 75 grain rockets.

Waiting on shooting light looking at a full moon. Only seen two deer in this spot last season but it’s a strong El Niño year, so anything is possible. Horns only today due to the infinite wisdom of the LDWF. If anything, I’m under a pecan tree so the squirrels will entertain. Good luck to all out this morning.

Hanging in an oak flat surrounded by bedding on both sides. Lots of doe traffic in here. Just want some meat for the freezer.

Already dropped my range finder. It’s definitely opening morning.

Good luck boys

Good luck and be safe.

I'm going to try and make a hunt this evening. In the middle of a bathroom/kitchen remodel so I feel bad leaving when the house is in shambles.

Warm
New phase 4. Haven’t killed with it yet.
Moderately hungover due to the pain LSU caused me last night.

Seen 5 or 6 so far. Does and 2 spikes. Pretty sure I pushed the buck I really want to shoot walking in. Annual reminder that bow hunting deer is hard.

Terrible morning. Thank god there aren't any cameras at the launch, because I'm sure I'd be going viral. Boat floated off launching at 5am, watched it for 5-10 seconds thinking it would come back to me like magic, it didn't, no one around so went swimming, still made the "hunt"

Just had a young doe at about 15 yards. Something scared her, she turned around to run away, and she ran into a tree .

Props to those of you out there, it's too warm for me to even want to go to the range.

North west Oklahoma.
Made a hunt this am. Planned to shot a doe. Wind was calm. Gnats were terrible. Feeder was clogged. First morning with no does.

Headed out soon for an evening hunt.

Got 5 does hanging around beating up on each other. Still have plenty of meat from last year so just spectating unless a pig walks out
