re: My dad had to get rescued from his climber stand - arbe25
I switched to rock climbing harness years ago also. I will never wear a traditional harness again. I hang from mine all the time cutting shooting lanes, hanging stands. Comfortable as can be and can hang all day if I wanted/needed to. ...

re: Great climbing stick mod for short guys - arbe25
I have aiders on all 4 of my lone wolf sticks. I’ve never had a problem getting my foot in them on the way down. I have about 8 inches of 11mm static line to hold them open. I thinking about going with a single aider that goes around the top of the stick and u bring it up with u as u climb. ...

Youth Lottery Duck Hunts still going on on NWR's?-Nevermind - arbe25
My son got drawn for the youth hunt this Saturday at Cameron Prairie NWR. The only info i can find says basically that if it is a hunt that doesn't require refuge personnel, you can still go. So i'm thinking we are good to go. These hunts do not require refuge personnel that i know of. Thanks fo...

I got the attack pants for Christmas. Looking forward to using them next fall. That guy surely knew what he was doing when he came up with that camo pattern for the mountains. Did yall notice how well it blended in?...

re: Lone Wolf stepping up their game in 2019 - arbe25
I watched a couple videos on these stands and while i like a lot about them, they sure seem noisy. Especially taking the top and bottom apart. Can you do that so it doesn't make noise, because the guys in the videos i watched sure couldn't....
I posted this last month in that best ...
My API is/was superior in all of these aspects.
Man it's amazing two fellers can use the same equipment and come to such different conclusions. I had an API Bowhunter i used for at least 10 years and i loved it. Finally bought a lone wolf hand climber and haven't touched the API...

Lone Wolf stepping up their game in 2019 - arbe25
I guess they have been watching and listening to all the guys trimming weight from their hang and hunt set ups. 7.5 lbs for the new assault?? That's pretty badass. Those sticks are sweet too. I saw in the comments stand and stick are gonna be nearly a grand. [link=(https://www.you...

re: Do you feel like your kids are getting the short end of the stick? - arbe25
What I find kinda strange or ironic is that we (kids from the 70's/80's) spent SOOOOOO much more time outside in the environment and got so much enjoyment from it, yet we are the ones being blamed for allegedly destroying it BY those who hardly use it, comparatively, at all.
For a...

Do you feel like your kids are getting the short end of the stick? - arbe25
THe flying squirrel thread reminded me of all the cool things i did and/or was able to do when i was a kid in the 80's. I think about this all the time. Walking or biking to the nearest woods to squirrel hunt after school. Building a fort in the woods. Hell even riding bicycles with all your bud...

re: Flying Squirrels in the South - arbe25
Just about any little patch of woods will have them. I would build a little wooden trap and set it with a pecan. Placed about 8ft up on a limb and within a couple nights, i'd have a squirrel. ...

re: Flying Squirrels in the South - arbe25
I used to trap them and have them for pets. Pretty easy to tame. They would ride in my front pocket to school and stay all day. They are nocturnal, which is a problem when the cage is in your room....

re: Rope cam cleats on a lock on stand - arbe25
I think i read about some guys trying it on stands and it doesn't work well because the rope stretches a little too much compared to straps. These guys were trying it on lone wolf stands with the versa button, but i think you would get the same results with the cam system....
