I should have my fishing license revoked and boat taken away

We all know what happened last week w/ the dead batteries.
Installed new batteries and a new radio yesterday. Everything worked.
Head out this morning and get to the launch and realize I forgot my landing net. Oh well. I'll deal.
Launch the boat and start heading down the MRGO to go to The Rocks. About 1 mile from Campo's all of my electronics go out. (Engine still fine)
Stop the boat and debate whether I should turn off the engine. Stop it and do a quick restart to make sure the engine is fine. Proceed to rummage around in the battery well and under the console trying to figure out what the problem is. Can't figure it out.
Decide going to the rocks when I don't really know the way and don't have my GPS is a bad idea so I stick to Lena Lagoon and all the bayous between the lake the MRGO.
I am trying cuts into the channel, cuts into the lake, ponds, bayous, the rock dam, the old shell beach fishing camp, etc. All I can muster up all day long is 1 sting ray, 2 tiny specs, 1 hard head, and 1 baby sheepshead.
I am burnt to a crisp w/ no fish and dead electronics.
But it was still better than staying home.

I've had plenty of those days.

I wish I could come in here and say we had our limit by 10am, but today kinda sucked. 3 reds and 15 trout. Headed in at 1:00.

If you can have your license revoked for a crappy outing, I'd be neck deep in fines. I launched after work for a quick outing to show a guy some spots to fish in his kayak. In less than an hour, I got stuck, filled the boat with muddy water getting out and lost about 14 bucks in lures
Those days leave me dejected. But I had a better day today, so me and fishing are okay again.

It only makes you a better fisherman IMO. Happens to the best of us.

Need to sit down and buy a old man a bunch of beers to talk to that knows the area and knows all about boats.
A lot cheaper in the long run. I drink BL's.

a day just about like that convinced me to never leave the dock without redundant electronics in the boat...I have handheld versions of everything that I keep in my bag, just in case...

Cane pole and a 5-gallon bucket.

We've all had those days. Hell sometimes I ask myself why I like to hunt and fish because I suck at it some days.
On a side note, the only gps I use in the marsh is an Iphone. Did you use that for backk up?

Hang in there Neauxla...
I lost a nice pair of pants and shirt out the boat on Friday... EVERYTHING blows out of our boat! Three of us on the boat, clothes are over our head and blows out with none of us noticing!
Bought a new rod/reel last week... most expensive one I've ever bought. It performed great this weekend... I caught the most trout, and it was SO GREAT!
Guess what? It freaking blew out of the boat on the way home today!
Did I mention that EVERYTHING blows out of my boat???
