I have a yote problem

So started going through the pictures from the lease today and have a big pack of yotes. They have killed two fawns atleast just from pics at one plot. Will make attempts to hunt them when we are up there but thinking of setting traps. Anyone have any luck in trapping them?

Trapping is too messy.
I’ve been told that pieces of sponge soaked in bacon grease is a better method. They leave your property before they die.

Along the lines of trapping....Anyone had much luck with foot traps for coyotes in your area? Seems like a simple way to go, but I don't know how fast the dogs get smart to the traps.

bullshite. I keep killing them and they keep coming but I love it

Foot traps is what I was thinking.
I would accidentally leave some poison contaminated meat out but my neighbors herding dog comes through every now and then and I dont want that issue. He keeps watch on the property.

I've gotten in one fight in the last dozen years, and it was with a POS at our hunting camp who did this.
Anyone who kills an animal in an extremely torturous manner is a piece of shite.

Start right now, pissing in some plastic jugs, like big Gatorade bottles and such. Let it age and get rank as hell.
get set up along their travel lanes, hedge row, fence line, terrace or whatever, nice moonlit night when the weather is cooler and the moon is bright, Poor every bit of that piss out in 1 spot and wait, use a distress call too if you want, but they are going to come to cover that piss.
Use your AR-15 and just get sighted in on that spot, you are going to see and hear one of the spookiest things ever, up close.

Having that same problem right now too, had one get into our ducks and ate 7 in one night (caught the whole thing on the security system video) was in my garden and loved pears, had the trappers come out and they could not get it, I stayed up several nights and finally caught her slipping through and shot her.
Still have plenty more in the back but no more have come around the house, bought an electric caller and it works pretty good, killed one more with that, got the trappers coming back next month
Trapping takes some time to learn and you can spend several hundrdillars to get started , but look up some trappers in your area and most of them would love an invitation to come trap at your place

We have one ugly yote that no longer has a piece of hair. Looks like a chupacabra.

1 the pack is likely a family unit, which is about to break up and spread out. The youngsters will only stay in an area with enough prey to support them-
High prey availability also means higher litter success.
Contrary to popular opines deer and pets are not their primary prey.
Don’t poison them, that is incredibly irresponsible and illegal -
Trapping them is pretty hard for the inexperienced
And I don’t thinks it’s legal for anyone but a nuisance hunter to trap outside of trapping season..

Yep, I've got a shite ton of yotes and bobcats all around me, I never mess with them. Have plenty of deer and turkeys, no problems here.

Using poison around our area is fine until some one finds a poisoned bear on your property. Lot of collared bears over here makes for easy evidence..

I was thinking one day that a trapping/predator eradication “consultant” job would be pretty neat. Learn how to trap and kill coyotes really well then advertise and work for large leases and large landowners and get paid pretty decent. Not to mention your office being the outdoors.

Wyman Meinzer did that. This podcast with him was pretty good. LINK

I tried it, I thought I was pretty careful with scent. I put a camera up and I have videos of them almost every night thinking about going dig the bait out.

This.
Even if it’s a nuisance, they are just animals doing what nature intended.
Anyone who doesn’t give an animal a quick and relatively painless death is a pos.
