Opponents questioned whether the change would make it easier for a hunter to illegally shoot deer during bow-hunting season.

What the hell was stopping them in the first place?

I'm sure that put the kibosh on illegal hunting.

If you are squirrel hunting, why do you need ANOTHER gun to protect you from hogs?

I guess I just take too many chances with my own life. Unless I am hunting or specifically checking hog traps, I almost never take a firearm with me.

I've been a forester for almost 20 years and can count on one finger how many times I've carried a sidearm while working.

If you see a snake, take a couple steps away from it, and pigs are much, much more likely to run away than run towards you

Sorry you must be wrong, OB conventional wisdom says that all hogs are wanton murderers of grown men.

You don't NEED a seatbelt everyday, but that one time you do...

I have no idea how many sportsmen enjoy the outdoors on a daily basis without a need to protect themselves. I would imagine the likelihood of NEED to be almost nonexistent, but I don't understand why I can legally open carry and legally conceal carry (permit) around town but not alone in the woods while I'm hunting because its archery season.

A lot of rural areas are becoming more infested with drug addicts and just broke arse people with no jobs. Never even considered this 25 years ago or even 15, but in the past 10, I have had a couple of incidents to make me feel the need to be protected "just in case" and one in particular where I genuinely wished I had more than a bow in my hand. Apparently I didn't NEED my gun because I am still alive but it definitely opened my eyes to some real possibilities.

just great

I bowhunt so I don't have to worry about idiots shooting me while walking to my stand

do we have to wear orange now in bow season? I don't want Billy Bob to think I'm some murderous pig that is coming to kill him

I don't get why people think they have to have a gun to be in the woods. This isn't Africa or Alaska or Australia.

The feds are generally slow to change their pamphlets. I'm guessing they either will not adopt or will slowly.

BTW, just going by the facebook comments to the article, some people must be bowhunting in Jurassic World.

I must've had some shitty luck, because I was for 2 years and almost got attacked by wild dogs twice, walked up on meth heads once, had one walk up on me once, actually stepped on a fawn, seen coyotes running across a field from me, and a possible squat encounter (freaky situation). I was also in places where there were a lot of bear sightings.

After the second time with the wild dogs, I always carried. This baw ain't about to get eaten by no cujo and turner and hooch in the middle of the woods

Eta: never saw a hog while I was working. Heard them, but never saw them. I try to avoid shite like that as much as possible
