I hear Sand Dollar marina is undergoing renovations now. Anybody know if you can still launch there while they're working?

Where do you pay? Is the store open?

The launch and the hotel is open. That is all. New owners bought sandollar and are raising the entire store up and putting much needed work into it. It will be called Grand Isle Marina, I saw on Facebook apparently the old owners weren’t happy because they wouldn’t pay extra for the sandollar name? They are shooting for an early July opening. I hope they open soon, we need the marina!

They should have fuel and bait in the next 1-2 weeks.

Total disaster but doesn't have shite on Hopedale marina. Went there for the last time in my life this weekend. frickkkkkkkk that place. Makes launching at bridgeside seem smooth and easy.

Was there this Saturday. Lots of work still needed, but launch was fine. Also checked out the new Moran’s. Super nice.

Ha. I only go to Hopedale or anywhere mostly on weekdays. Sorry for you fellas that have to fish the weekends. I can only imagine. The launch in Fouchon is pretty nice.

Fishing on the weekend is absolutely atrocious. It sucks arse. Horrible. Terrible.

LAUNCH YOUR BOAT AND GET THE EVER LIVING frick OUT OF THE WAY

My brother and I can go from putting the truck in park to boat in the water in less than a minute if nobodys in the damn way. Never fails, every weekend somebody has their broke arse no running shite all jammed up in the ramp trying to work on it and shite. Get the damn thing off the trailer or leave it on and get the frick out of the way NOW

I was there at end of March and Sandollar had logs at the launch so you couldn’t launch. Maybe that changed since then but just my 2 cents.
Launched at bridgeside and didn’t enjoy it.

I miss cigars. Wondering how close you were to the end of the ramp and gritting your teeth as you kept backing down was the real fun.

I saw people launching there last weekend, but I have no clue how you would pay the launch fee.

My dad would always treat us to soft serve ice-cream at Cigars after a day of fishing.
Good memories.

In general, I do not have any issues at Hopedale Marina as long as I am with someone who can drive the boat on and off the trailer. If not, or if I am by myself (nobody has a hoist anymore), problems do occur due to the impatience of other people. I do not blame them, because on weekends the hoist operators should be actively involved in helping out at the launch. This is rarely the case. Many of these places should upgrade their facilities if possible.

They moved the bait shop to the covered arena, and put the arena where they had the bait shop. Also added new docking areas.
