I don’t even know what this is?
It's a function built into several newer vehicles that when you stop the truck/car goes dead and when you let off the brake it automatically restarts. Fuel saving feature that is annoying as hell IMHO.

this only for a certain year and newer?

That seems like a terrible name for a product.

go to settings, then advanced settings and then alarm and it will give you the option to ask on exit for perimeter or all alarms.
Not using the module just using the settings on my dash correct?

The OBDlinkMX is pretty much considered the go to adapter unless you want a cheapo chinese ELM. Atleast thats how it was when I did my 2011. It works great (bluetooth to laptop).

It is pretty cool all the things you can do with it. I have not used it yet but I may for a few things.
I am not sure you can disable the auto start stop tho. It doesn’t bother me so I haven’t looked deeper into it but I don’t remember reading that.
I want to fix my blinkers from the LED bulb switch and do Bambi mode. Not sure what else. I’d love to tune my EB but I promised everyone I wouldn’t mess with my daily driver anymore

Should give you that option every time you turn the truck off. Pops up on dash board. Defaults back to all sensors every time in mine at least.
It annoyed the hell out of me when a moth got stuck in my truck and kept triggering the alarm a while back. Thought it was a dumb feature until I realized it’s more to trigger when say a kid moves that got left in a vehicle.

Customer calls his repair shop
.
Customer: Hey Joe, I've hot some weird stuff going on with the F-150.
Joe: Bring it on by and I'll put my Forscan on it.
Customer: Dang Joe, I always thought you were Jewish.

On my truck it gives you an ask on exit option. If you check that it will ask every time I stop the vehicle if I want perimeter or all alarms.

One of our Basketball dads showed up in a 2019 V8 Raptor yesterday, yes his son is named Jayden (no lie).
Truck will never see dirt but is nice, blacked out, leveled and lifted

This one. Model is 2015 F150 Platinum. Couldnt have been easier to set up and use. LINK

I dont know, tbh. I didn't look too far into since I knew my truck was compatible CP3 said he did it on his 2011.

On the common changes spreadsheet, disabling Auto Start/Stop is at the very top of the list. Guess people hate it lmao

I think 2011 is the earliest year you can really start changing things. MAYBE 2009/2010.
I activated my turn signal lights as DRL's because I like the look, but 2011 can do the bambi mode, police thing, and alot of the other changes. I know some ppl use it to add oem remote start and other features as well to trucks that didnt come from the factory with said options.
