I figured this board is good place to ask this question. I want to buy a couple of really bright, quality flashlights. I want something that I can keep in a drawer in the house. I don’t know what brands are legit and which ones are just overpriced, cheap marketable crap. What do y’all like to use?

Stream light is what I have in my hunting pack and kitchen drawer. I'm sure there is something better now, but I haven't had to buy a quality flash light in 11+ years. That alone speaks for itself.

Cost range from $30-$100+... I think I spent about $60 a piece on my two lights and hit the middle of the road.

They'll light up an owl or coon in the top of a tall pine damn well.

I have Streamlight, Surefire and Olight, plus a few random cheap chinesiums of unknown brand. My last two purchases were Olight but if you don't like proprietary charging I'd go with Fenix or Streamlight.

Olight does have a couple of AA or AAA models that just use regular batteries, but once you get past that they use proprietary stuff. It's not expensive but it's not as convenient as USB charging.

Lots of decent options but streamlight for quality and not terribly expensive. Replacement parts are easy to find and cheap as well.

I keep a Stream light Stinger in my truck on a charger with an extra battery. It's never let me down.

I prefer headlamps so it frees up my hands for shooting deer. As far as brands, I just use whatever any of my neighbors left unsecured in their truck or garage.

I carry a Sofirn SC31. Uses the same charger as my phone.

You can get a shorter tube and put a shorter battery in it. I barely notice it's in my pocket.

I did the railroad for a while. I was a conductor before I got fired for safety reasons.

I needed a good flashlight because theirs sucked. Especially if it’s pitch black outside and I’m walking the length of a full train in Woodstock Alabama literally BFE.

I got a Streamlight that’s more like a spotlight….75 yards away.
