Didn't see it posted.

Anyone want to bet they rue their decision to shite on all 2nd amendment folks?

It's their guns. They can do what they want with them. If they have something cheap that I want I will still buy it.

I could imagine this wasn't a knee jerk reaction. It was calculated. They probably have a pretty good understanding of how much they will lose on this.

Wow.

Hope they enjoy hanging out with Circuit City and other failed big box retailers because they just killed their business.

Wow their guilt for selling the parkland shooter a gun is really overboard, he didn't use it in the shooting guys, lighten up.

I think as a retailer, the only thing they can do is destroy them or sell them.

If they got a better selection of clothes and shoes I’d exclusively shop there and never look at shopping at Dicks again.

I only buy guns from Academy when I have to. The dudes behind the desk are unbearable.

Are they going to stop selling guns and ammo? I can't imagine too many gun owners will still be going to see them.

Exactly. Don't see any 28% off deals coming through for Dicks now do you.

The one near me doesn’t even sell .223 or 5.56 ammo. They have a few bolt action.223 rifles in store, that almost looks like AR 15s

Visiting my parents near myrtle beach and will check out the one here

Stoked to go to bass pro tho, there isn’t one remotely close to where I’m stationed

Im not convinced this will hurt their business but so much ,albeit I won't shop there again. I doubt many serious gun people shopped for guns there in the first place. Plus I think there business is much more heavily weighted towards sports and clothes then it is hunters/gun owners. Plenty of fisherman don't care enough about AR15s to stop shopping their either.

They will be out of the firearms business very soon.

FIFY. To be honest, I'm surprised they are still around. It seems like Academy has really cornered the retail outdoors market.

This, plus hunters won't care as much as shooters.

Setting aside the politics which I don’t agree with, I just don’t understand how a presumably logical CEO could make this decision?

Say you think you need to distance yourself from the firearm business and focus on sporting goods and clothing. Fine.

Why go out of your way to rail against the portion of your customer base who had been coming in part for hunting and firearm supplies? Why not just quietly pull the product and restock the area with whatever new goods you plan to sell?

All businesses should stay out of politics and virtue signaling, at best you are frustrating 1/3 of your potential customer base no matter what position you take.

When profit (which is literally the only point for a business to exist) no longer explains the actions of a corporation you have to start considering other explanations.

Gun nuts and ar fan boys are an odd bunch. You guys run around screaming about your rights and freedoms but bitch when someone does the same with their business.

Social justice doesn’t pay. It’s becoming one of the worst business tactics in modern day.

Does Dick’s stance affect my life at all? Not really and I barely shopped there anyway. But this gives me plenty reason to not shop there and watch their business die.
